It wasn't me who got scammed. Description: Buzz traded his Mongolian with heart for a bud+bills, but apparently didn't receive the items. On the other hand he lost his Mongolian and the hat is now in the scammers backpack. He is already marked as a scammer, so reporting him to steamrep doesn't change much I guess. Is there any chance for him to get his unusual back? He's pretty sad about it. Edit: Ticket to Steam Support has been written. I helped him filling the columns.
I am afraid the support will not help because there are no evidences such as a screenshot or videos :/
I dunno, they can investigate his inventory history and see that his hats are indeed missing. But well, it's up to Valve now...
Do always check if the trader you're trading with is not a scammer and really check if it's a scammer if you trade high value items. Sorry, but it's also his own fault that he doesn't check steamrep.com... I know how sad you can be if you lose your high value item(s), but there is nothing we can do about this. And I don't think Valve will help Buzz, but you never know. PS: Also never give someone your items already if you don't receive what you're looking for. Just wait till they give what you wanted!
I think Buzz is young too. I know thats not an excuse but i dont think he knows about steamrep. Unless he does the yeah his fault in a way. Oh and I though scammers weren't allowed to trade?
Nothing prevents a scammer who is flagged on SteamREP from trading out-of-game, or on a random server, I guess.
Being tagged on steamrep and having valve remove your trading privileges are two entirely separate things sadly.
Just remembered when I traded with a scammer, there was a red text in the trade window, where Steam said that the guy is probably a scammer and you have to be very careful while trading with him.
But they don't do it for every scammer, probably he was one of the few. SteamREP.com and communities are tagging scammers, but they can't ban them from trading nor can they add notes to their accounts. Only Steam can add notes and tradeban the scammers...
Hm yeah I thought so that nobody can really help him anymore. Since hes tagged as scammer... Thanks for your replies guys. He can only learn from that I guess.
