First of all, selling items via PayPal is never a good idea. If you haven't checked the previous posts about PayPal, feel free to take a look at them.

For people like me, who are still using PayPal, I could give you a briefly introduction how I use PayPal to sell my items.

    1) Always check if you are trading a marked scammer, has done any fraudulent activities or has any pending reports. Trading in any ways with a marked scammer WILL also hurt your reputation

    2) Get a specific note which the buyer should add while sending you the money. The note should include following aspects:
    - His real life Name
    - His steamID
    - Stating what he is buying
    - Stating that he received the items without any problems
    - An agreement from him that he will not chargeback because he got every thing he wanted to buy

Check out my own note at my www.tf2outpost.com trades.

    3) Let him send the same note via email to you. He has to use the email he is using for his PayPal account. Same with you.

    4) Make a screenshot of the chat. (Be sure you make a screenshot from the whole Desktop)

    5) Be sure he is not using a new- alternate account. He should have a nice amount of time spend in the game.

    6) Be sure he has some reputations. I usually look at www.backpack.tf
Steam profile reputation is not a safe reputation source.

    7) Don't trade with somebody if you find anything strange or fishy.

With these tipps I was able to not get chargebacked yet.

I DO NOT GUARANTEE A SAFE TRADE WITH THESE TIPPS.

It is also important to remember that including "An agreement from him that he will not chargeback because he got every thing he wanted to buy" or any other "I will not chargeback" statements within the notes will not actually prevent chargebacks.

Notes are in general useless. The key to success is to have as many proof as possible.

I do a lot of PP trading. Most important part of selling your items via PayPal is to walk away if you think anything is suspicious. No matter how enticing an offer is or how badly you want to sell something, always look for the big three boxes to check: Verified PP, Lots of Rep, and Rep dating back several months.

Also notes are absolutely useless. You'll need the billing statement and an ID of the buyer to even have any traction in a case dispute, unless the buyer forgot change their IP/etc etc.
