dont think you use a movie-config?

cos quality is too low for on 720,

I'm still looking at it myself, I use Quantums little movie config, but not all settings I agree with, so i'm rewriting it.

    viewtopic.php?f=45&t=6230
for what I made so far as tests, still find it too blurry on a bit of distance, and I noticed only after making the movies there was fog, which I didn't want.

Nope don't use a config (yet). For my new upcoming fragvid I'm setting the video settings as high as possible, and motion blur enabled. Going to remove the hud and use the standard xhairs (or none). And of course set the net_graph to 0. :p

I compressed with xvid 4.00 by the way, looks fine.

I didn't know what music I should put in and it had to be something short, so I picked one of the standard songs of Windows. It was in my music map under examples of music, called "Kalimba - Mr. Scruff". Kinda like it.

think you want to try this one out for compression:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/

    in virtualdub, select video\compression\ "x264vfw - H 264/MPEG-4 AVC codec"

its the recommended codec to use for youtube. (that works with vdub)

Hehe, well I'm going to use xvid 4.00 anyway. Good comm's on that one and it looks good enough to me. My fragvid should get on pldx. :p

Edit: don't need to compress myself anyway. Just need to record and give everything to my mate who's going to do the editing. =D

I use the H.264 Codec as well and it works like a charm. Videoediting in Sony Vegas and then compress it with MediaCoder. Gives me a reasonable balance between quality/size.
Even though Youtube sometimes seems to have a problem with this format since it happened to me already, that the site desynct video and audio or interpreted my video longer than it is and then rejected it because it's supposedly longer than 11 minutes.

did you use any strange resolution there?

1280x720 = horizontal & vertical dividable by 2, 4 and 16... often re-coding has problems with resolutions that cannot be divided by those numbers.

    I used 1280x720.

Guys, I need your opinions of what music should be used in my movie. I'm looking for 2 or 3 songs which aren't used too much in fragmovies already. A song for the end of the movie may be a little bit relax, maybe with some singing and high tones. For the rest of the movie a bit fast and nice music, maybe some good drum & bass I was thinking of.
    What do you think?
