Nice joke. The problems with Mega upload have been going on for ages. But getting them down is ever more useless than getting down pirate bay... :EDIT: On this matter:
Yea, I'm sure DDOsing their websites will convince them not to take down "evil" sites in the future. I really would like to see that whole group/collective/whatever get busted one day.
Problem is that people use it as cover. I wonder how many of their hacks were actually done by the people that came up with the name and stuff. It's the new internet warfare. You attack "us", "we" attack you. Though it's not good, it's sure as hell better than placing bombs for protest like in the 80-ties.
We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not Forgive. We do not Forget. Expect Us. And also: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16655272" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16655272</a>
I'm not sure if this is a good thing because it could be postponed untill all the hype dies down then they push it through quietly.
Offcourse and megaupload was a sucky downloadserver anyway...annoying extravagant boss, serves him being in jail. He made us Im-poor-and-need-to-download users looks bad. Spoiler haha came across this on reddit http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/35rgw9/
<a class="postlink" href="http://109.236.83.66/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://109.236.83.66/</a>
FileSonic got scared. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.prefixmag.com/news/filesonic-disables-file-sharing/60803/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.prefixmag.com/news/filesonic ... ing/60803/</a>
I don't know if he (mega upload owner) was into the distribution of copyrighted material himself. But if he wasn't they should not go to jail for renting space to people. IF i run a company that rents away storage space, you know like containers, garages, ... Police comes and find stolen goods, example 50 stolen tv's in a garage that's rented. why should i as boss of the company that rents away those space go to jail? I (the storage company) am not the one that should see if the goods stored in those spaces are stolen or not. That's in conflict with the privacy law. By running a storage company, you know you are bound to run into people that rent storage places for the sole purpose of storing stolen goods. You know the same as when you run an online storage place that you're gonna get copyrighted material on there. So why should a digitally storage space company go into the privacy of it's renters(users) to see what goods are in the rented storage spaces? And be convicted over it by not removing the stolen goods? /rant If he's in on the distribution because it gives high traffic to his company, than that's something else.
Oh my god... where is this world going to? 1 site down, 1 site up. simple. imo, they are taking this TOO serious :|
