Any way to try before I buy?

I'm tempted to get TF2 now my bank balance > £0, but I don't want to waste £10 of what could be valuable donations to Lethal on a game I might not like. I know the last free weekend wasn't too long ago - are there any other ways of trying out TF2?

 

My friends only play SupCom over LAN The big fags. I can't even run that game.

 

Just watch a few demo/movies of the game.
If you like the style, you will love the game.
It is all about teamplay.

 

Any games you can liken it to? Based on the whole class based play, it makes me think of ET.
