Is enough to get you a steamrep caution in extreme cases... Personally i remove any scammers i acquire on my friendslist, certainly wouldn't risk trading with them (can get you a scammer tag.)
Trading with someone who is flagged as a scammer can get yourself a scammer tag as well? If that's the case then SteamRep is silly. Same for getting a caution tag for having them in your friendslist.
The caution tag for having a load of scammer friends is with 10+ in some cases when the person is suspected to be a alt of one. Trading with scammers rule came by huge demand, after a guy bought ~22 max head over a period of time from a scammer that had scammed those... It has a bunch of conditions on them to safeguard a immediate marking ( not looking at any below the worth of a unusual), and its aggregating, so first time gets a caution, which can be appealed and will then be set to hidden, 2nd time it will be public, for a x period, 3rd time its over. The rule is to be able to get to their clean alts, so far its still suspected that that guy that "bought" 22 max heads from the scammer is a alt of that scammer, but that could not be proven, even to this day.
Okay, have to agree that a caution tag for having scammers in one's friendslist can make sense indeed. Personally I still don't agree with flagging those who trade with a scammer, but atleast there's some reasoning behind it.
It's to stop scammers profiting from scammed items, if they can't find people to sell to then maybe they wont do it as much. But it is still pretty easy to filter items through "clean" alts and such.
I'm Swiss, you should know that I don't care where valuables come from as long as they land in my pocket. No, I get the idea behind that rule, I just don't think it to be too appropriate.
