Actually for him, this isn't funny at all. Very sad really... But I thought this would be the best place for it anyway... Btw, it's pretty old, so a lot of you might already "know" him, but for those who don't: This isn't geeky, but it is awesome, if only in a freakish, sad kind of way. Dede Koswara, 37, is known as the 'Tree Man of Java' because he looks like a tree. He has an extremely rare immune deficiency that prevents his body from fighting HPV, resulting in massive growths of bark-like warts. Sick, I know. Over 4lbs of the stuff has already been removed, and now he hopes to get married soon. Not to a bush or shrub either, but a woman. His first wife left him after he got so covered that he couldn't work any more. We all wish you a speedy recovery and healthy living from here on out, Dede. You deserve a good woman after everything you've been through. If I knew of any I'd send them your way, but I don't. All the chicks I know are strumpets, strippers, or psychopaths. Be thankful everyone. Several more uncensored pictures and a VIDEO after the jump, but be warned: they're pretty unnerving. source: Geekologie.com second report: Dede Koswara, 37, says he plans to get hitched now that he can use his hands and walk without pain. Dede Koswara says he hopes to get married again Speaking from an Indonesian hospital, he told the Daily Telegraph website: "What I really want first is to get better and find a job. But then, one day, who knows? I might meet a girl and get married." Dede's first wife left him and he lost his job because of his bizarre affliction. At one point to feed his two children he joined a freak show with other victims of peculiar diseases. But now, following a series of operations to cut away the tree-like growths, he can see the outline of his toes for the first time. He has also become a sudoko addict now he can hold a pen. He said he hopes that he will resume a normal life after two more operations to graft undamaged skin onto his hands, feet and face. Since Dede cut his knee as a teenager, strange roots have been growing out of him. A small wart developed on his lower leg and spread uncontrollably. But last year US dermatology expert Dr Anthony Gaspari took up his case. He concluded Dede's odd affliction was caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), a fairly common infection usually causing only small warts. But in Dede's case he had an extremely rare immune system deficiency, leaving his body unable to contain the warts. source: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.metro.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.metro.co.uk</a>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Video: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2f3_1195152271" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2f3_1195152271</a>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
