CPU use

if you go to taskmanager (ctrl+alt+del) and click on the cpu.. then you see what is useing the 30% of cpu.

 

Its possible that the virusscan is doing a scan.
Or you antispyware.

Perhaps some of the pre-installed shit which came with your laptop... like the tools needed to operate the extra buttons like easyinternet, easymail and such crap for lazy people..

how much do they use?

because the total of your cpu usage must be msn en explorer..

 

i also have a laptop that is using not all off its cpu

this is because there is some technology in my laptop that keeps the cpu use verry low when you do nothing and little things

you will get more cpu use when you use a large program or a big game

so no worry

 

post a screeny of your task manager
with show processes from all users checked.
and then all processes running.

might be some spy/mallware there...

 

Beter post a HijackThis log then.
Then you will really know what is going on...
