some of you will have allready noticed that Lethal Zone is experimenting again with a mapvote and as a result of that there have been a great deal of community maps added to them If there are maps out there that you think are worthy of community approval and are bound to end up getting approved someday by Valve, do post a request(preferably with some pictures and extra info) a great source that all custom maps eventually pass thru is http://www.fpsbanana.com/ dont know if its allready in our list but one i'd really like to see is Swift wich looks like a very nice payload map and is getting some very good feedback, there are some known issues with the map but like most of the good ones, the creator is hard at work on a better version i have to say i hate that font and mountainlogo tho
looks very nice indeed We can always upload new maps. For as we are a bunch of lazy bums: please do post the link to the map for us to download
not a real request to get a map in our mapcycle but one to just review for the community thats working on it and then in turn eventually leave some feedback on fpsbanana and maybe their website/forum pl_VipersDen_b2 http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/82891 a semi decent map that could turn out to be a great one with allota work done, hope we can do a few matches with only regulars on server 4 as its not even in reach of becoming a solid map for in any of the regular playlists observations on my part sofar plenty of other details i havent tackled but hope to discuss that with some of you people
played the swift map.. very nice.. gets a bit messy at the end because of tons of sentry's but still fun.. its like some goldrush parts at the end, you need a couple of ubers for it.. i think we should try it..
That's not a swift problem but an engineer whoring one. I don't know any map you couldn't defend with 4 sentries.
i dont know any map, with 4 sentry's which i cant take out as demo/soldier. Sometimes a sentry kills tons of people and then i change to soldier/demo and its gone.. its just stupid.. but hey the noob level is getting pretty big sometimes... a good thing we good regulars, couple of valve's , some comets, bhd, the spades thingy etc etc.. problem is that when a new map vote is coming, and swift is in the list, and say dustbowl or goldrush is in it.. it will never win..
customs barely ever win at all, because most players just want to play a map they know, I have to say I'm one of those people :roll: once I really know a map it is way more fun than in the time you still get lost...
i dont get that, even the maps you know you had to learn remember? having the "knowledge" of the map as a main motivation sounds just as a lazy ass excuse to me, aside from maybe Steel and Hydro the TF2 maps in general are easy as pie the game isnt like say Unreal or Quake where learning all the weaponspots etc is a MAJOR thing and you can learn most maps at a fairly easy pace aswell, especially if its a payload one like Swift
Mike, I think he means that the players usually choose the maps which they know by name.(like the official maps,(dustbowl, goldrush etc) instead of a custom maps of which they never heard of)
I was just talking generaly and the part about me was just a bad day (personal stuf)... and in a bad day you want to play a game you like...and if you than need to learn a map and learn where to get health and be in a team where also the most players are lost or don't know where the objectiv is, than that sucks. and that's why most TF2 players don't wanna play customs they don't know. no matter how fun it can be they don't vote for a map where they don't know the way. I had the same with cp_Amesterdam, the server filled very rapidly with that one because players who knew it like it sooo much, but as soon as it came with a already full server a lot of people left because it's quite a big map they don't know *edit* jer9 made this story a bit shorter :roll: (saw his post too late)
