Today a disaster struck Pukkelpop at Belgium. A heavy storm broke several stages.

saw it on the news. Really terrible. The forces of nature remain a very destructive and uncontrollable thing.

Yeah like cut down all the trees because they can fall over in a storm. ( Trees help to keep tents out of the wind if they stay up themselves )
Those tents are very strong already. People couldn't evacuate because of the hail outside. I've seen big bruises from the hail on ppl that ran out into the open. It was painfull not to be in a tent. And they couldn't go anywhere outside because there's just nothing there. Just farmlands. No idea how they could be working on more safety...
You can't evacuate 60.000 ppl in a very short time anyway. When there's nothing wrong yet, nobody wants to leave anyway. When it goes bad it's to late. There wasn't anything that could have been done to foresee this. The ppl that orginised this have no blame.

Condolances to the family's of the victims.
