When I tried to connect to the PL server, I got disconnected due to the map 'pl_cranetop_b8' which was missing. AFAIK the map should be downloaded from your downloadserver automatically, so either it's a bug or some missing map. btw: We had the same issue some weeks ago, while we were trying to play a war. Not sure though which map was missing then.
Ah, the war issuse was my fault. I went on there to practice some jumps and I accidently hit the map (cant remember the name) but it had rc2 at the end. Had to get snel to change it remotly.
I presume you have your game set to download files automatically? It's usually best to start with the basics, from a techy point of view.
partualy my fault... i put all the PL maps on the server into the cycle... but not all maps are uploaded to the DL server it seems
Not your fault. All the maps on the PL server were also uploaded to the Downloadserver by me. Checked it, its there. Just tested it... it downloads the map without problems. Please try again. Otherwise you may have an issue reaching our download server.
Checked my settings, and there was this option to not allow any custom content. I remember setting it like this, because some servers I joined were trying to force a huge ammount of sounds & skins to the client. Turned it off, and it worked. Somehow it is strange that maps are treated the same way as skins, but whatever. Thanks for the help, topic <--- closed
Yesterday I wanted to fill the payload server, but there was some custom map on which I didn't have yet. I connected and it said missing map as well. I was about to ask someone why there is a custom map on a empty server which isn't even uploaded to the download server. Turns out I was wrong, I connected again and it started to download and worked. Seems the first time I connected it didn't work or something :| 2nd time it did.
Nah, its your router, at least for TF2/L4D2. Had the same issues and it can only be fixed from the commandline in the router so it sucks donkey balls that you don't have access. (its easy to reset it completely however)
