The first exciting footage captured by my dashboard cam! Almost like they thought "fuck it not waiting any longer"
A man calls 911, and tells there is some that drive on the wrong side of the road. The emergency service asks where the ghost rider is and what he'd seen etc. He responds: its not 1, its HUNDREDS of them... But anyways, the UK should better start work to make it the same as everywhere else...I know there have been plans to it in the past, but the costs for that only will go up.
so foreign drivers can drive more easily in the UK, and UK hooligans can drive more safely outside of the UK etc. also, production of cars for UK requires the steering wheel on the wrong side etc, so cars are more easily sold / used between countries, etc etc. In long term there is only benefits.
400ish years ago EVERYONE rode on the left side of roads when passing others. Then some French and American farmers decided to be difficult and drove their carts on the right hand side of the road. And people let them (generally because the carts were quite large). Then through war and peer pressure such practices spread across the continents. Or to sum up: you lot switched in the first place, so it should be YOU who switch back (instead of harassing islands that don't want to be a part of your gang anymore)
Would be pretty sweet yeah. Also find a way to get closer to the main land of Europe, airplanes and boats are so expensive these days, I'd much rather cycle across to you guys.
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you folks actually did switch to the metric system in the papers, but don't use it daily yet. Also, I was in London for a week (saturday 28th to friday 3rd) and... YES, please do switch to euro so I don't have to pay all these currency-conversion fees !
Nah, let 'm have the GBP, its fine... just the empirical system is killing ppl. They really should go to the metric system.
Well, their money system doesn't affect me... so far. It just feel weird that one of the main EU countries doesn't use euros.
EU != Euro Zone != European Customs Union != Schengen Agreement. The UK has always been "Euro Sceptical" and they have quite some reasons to be so as well. They are also, generally speaking, more dedicated to traditions and old customs. This gives them both great authenticity as a somewhat conservative view. Whether those things are good or bad come down to individuality.
