As we know, LZ is dying because of the lack of players and supporters. We need more of them, which can be arranged if we had something new and interesting to show to the players. Frankly we don't really have anything to market. There hasn't been much further discussion about the servers that could have huge potential at gaining players. My idea is a FF2 server which could become popular with little efford. The ideaAs most people know Freak Fortress 2 is similiar to VSH, the main difference is a wide variety of bosses. As I've mentioned earlier, Donald Trump would be the main factor of making this server popular. He'd make a great boss not just for fun but mainly for marketing purposes. He's very popular around the world and with the correct marketing, we might need to create a second server. ExecutionAs Snelvuur said earlier: We need people that can do server management. For now, Snelvuur and Jelly would be the key elements at setting up the server, since there're nobody else who can manage server stuff (as far as I know). The execution is fairly simple in my opinion. The server doesn't require much special treatment like tweaks, heavy coding, etc. Trump will be the key ingredient here, the old server was simple and worked perfectly without any extra plugins. I think that the new server should have the same approach. This way we can stick to the old system. Basicly this means that only one new boss needs to be added to the old boss list. BossesI was searching the old posts and found a thread regarding the bosses of FF2. https://lethal.zone/threads/ff2-bosses.22584/ These are the default bosses, the others are their reskins. -Ninja Spy -Cristian Brutal Sniper -DemoPan -Vagineer -Saxton Hale -Seeman & Seeldier In my opinion Donald Trump should be a reskin of Vagineer, Saxton Hale or Seeman. I've actually started several times working on adapting bosses so they're not op, or unique... big issue is that FF2 is literally based on having no balance at all.. If you want to balance out that mod.. you gotta create a baseline before balancing around it. And that's a lot of work.. considering we've had 20-30 bosses... and in doing so.. needing testing and nobody to test with.. (regular playerbase was just upset at it..) kind of pushed me away. Regarding this list.. I think you should start off simple with the basis, create a baseline and work from there by adding new bosses at your leisure whenever you balance them out around whichever baseline you set. That's just my 2 cents. The list and all being fine.. but I'd say start off small and work from there.. Easier for you and everyone else to keep up and people get new content and can see the expansion work from there, also it would be unique due to the adaptations.
Agreed, this would ensure that there'll still be players in the future. We could announce these kinds of updates in our group, which could mean that not only our playerbase stays the same, it could grow. I don't see a very big problem with this. I've seen people join even empty servers. Even I've done that in an attempt to fill a server I liked. We could "artificially" fill our server with active members when we announce about this new server. When people check this server, they'll see that it has players on it -> they play the server -> they favourite it = they'll join again in the future depending on how many players it has. Heck, no server has players 24/7 but people still play them. While this is an EU group, it doesn't mean that americans wouldn't play it, especially if we had Trump. This would (theoretically) give us 24/7 coverage of players.
Your missing just 1 importing thing.. a server admin that wants to administer it. I have tried so many things, and look at jelly and how much time he put in Jailbreak, only to see it die not too long afterwards. That is just a waste of time sadly. You need someone that knows linux/ssh/ftp to do at least some work on a server, frankly most people that want to help only know "ftp" and that is it. Zano0, its pretty easy.. you might say 'i don't see a reason off having multiple users/admins for it' i would say 'i don't see a reason to try and start a server based on the interest of 1 person' That might sound bad, but in reality you cant ask say Apple to go about having 1 extra feature on the phone, purely because you want it. It needs a majority of people for it to be sustainable. Sustainable is the correct word here, whats the point in doing effort if it won't take off. Your intention might be solid, but without a few people more at least i don't see other people willing to put their time in it either.
Agreed, I was mostly attempting to find more people who'd be ready to work on this/any kind of project. But there're not so there's no point to continue further.
