So what do we think of this, good or bad for our community and tf2 in general?

I don't really know what to think right now. At least, if we bought the game, we have a Premium account.

I'd say the premium account should only be for those who payed for it (and will pay for it of possible), not for those who buy a €0.49 weapon in the store. Or make the medals not available to free players, so we have at least something different...

Also, noobs everywhere it will be.

Well, I'll finally get Krikke to play the game though

It's not the noobs that bothers me, neither is the fact that this game is way to sophisticated to just be given for free.

It's the hordes of cheaters that would storm our land! VAC was something that would keep the most trash away by facing them with the danger of account/money loss due to banns... Now they could blatantly abuse the system, get banned, register new account, install TF2 for free and start clean, the cycle continues...

This leaves the community/clan administration with a lot more work on their hands :(

Well the fact that its free will do doubt bring a lot more players to the game, and hopefully here.

But what havok said, we have a troller, we ban them, they can just make a new account and they're back.

Kinda annoying how we paid for it and get nothing extra :/

Agreed, I can smell them already.
At least we could make an alternate account to idle some moar, but still the price prevented cheaters to come back, it was kind of a natural security precaution...

The only thing i didnt like about to going free is the increase in hackers there would be in tf2. After reading this that thought has been put to rest. So a yay for me.

Being skeptical here - they can't even deal with it in the moment, what about when the load gets even higher. Just some good'ol nice commercial words we keep hearing for a long time already.

QFT, yet I don't really know what to think.

The signs before the update were obvious so I pretty much expected this.
Everyone can create an account now, meaning that there will be more hackers, more grievers, more noobs (and i dont mean friendly noobs, i mean real noobs).
Also I fear that there will be store exclusive Items in the future, so not only unusuals, no even weapons and stuff...

But if all that doesnt happen, why should it not be positive?

I don't know it either yet.
Good be good ( heaps of new players) but also lot's of noobs in everyway possible.
Game is free, so the commitment couldn't be as high.

Only thing I hope for is that steamcloud will be included for vac since it registers on which pc you have the game installed.

Would been better if all the new items where for paying players and keep a minimum set for free users.

Let's just wait and see what happens.

It's a bit of a double edged sword, obviously the ingame purchases surpassed the game purchases, so economically it's a smart move for Valve. I'm waiting a bit too see how much the premium account is compared to the free one, but I don't think it will dumb down the majority of the players. TF2 is a very new player friendly game, and I think this is the right direction.

The only thing that bothers me is that you can buy a 0,49 item and get the same privileges as the game buyers. I think that should be upped to 10,- or the current price of the game before the F2P change.

TF2 Is going to be one of the biggest and best F2P games now though. And I think Valve wants to conquer that part of the gaming business. Especially with the new F2P games on steam. It's the new market for casual gamers and TF2 has been going that way for a long time now.

Having played the game for a moment now, it seems the servers are more... messy?

This might just be me but the gameplay is more chaotic now...

And it also feels like people are now playing this game with my money :|

God, it's a day after the F2P change and everything is chaotic now?

Well, whatever, let's see what happens now.
