Golden Wrench Charity on August 31st

Thought I would give a heads up for the Golden Wrench Charity event that will be commencing in less than 2 days! I really should have made this thread ages ago but thought seen as the event is close and I remembered donating I'd let you lot know of it.

If you haven't read already, even though it's been going for a while now, on August 31st 13 of the 100 Golden Wrenches will be destroyed for Child's Play Charity. Initially, the guy was on his own destroying just his wrench and getting a few hundred dollars. Then he decided to involve other wrench owners and slowly more jumped on board.

I (and probably some of you) have seen the donations go from a few hundred, to a thousand, to 5-7 thousand, then to 14,000 with Valve's donation and it is now at a whopping $30,000

I've been sporting the spray to support the cause for a good month now. You've still got time to donate if you like. Link below:

I hope to see some regulars on the day to see the event. I'm sure many a rage will ensue on the server/s and the Steam Forums.

 

I wanted to donate something when I returned from Italy. Whatever was left of my budget, sadly I forget. And now the ChipIn site is giving me an error.

What was the amount Valve donated?

 

I believe they doubled what the community had donated (so $7000 at the time up to $14000).

I donated $10 myself.
