    The problem is, it doesn't matter what speed you get can up to, you simply cannot get faster than your line allows.

    Like much of the UK can't download above 1mb/s because of the lines... so unless Google are planning to tear up our roads and put down fibre cables, then this is pretty useless for us.

    Knowing google, they will :D I don't know, it should be possible to get those speeds up and running.

    Its US only and only where enough people pay for it (not even city wide, its smaller district wide). Besides that, its only 100 times as fast as what the american have on average, which is for (most) european standards really really low. And the main question still remains...is that speed average speed or just theoretical max speed which you will never get? I think the last.
