I thought it was about time i got around to learn hammer.
Said to my self, will be a independent project no need to wast anyone time. But then i realized how skill wise inferior i'd be without a proper list of things that i need to learn.
    Which brings me to:
Would any spare some of their time by writing suggestion/list of things that i need to learn(First time i'm start up SDK as i write this)

    Thank you!

When i try and make a new object via brush, and press enter when im done with it. It disapears

Before doing your own map from scratch, I suggest you should just mess around in hammer, using like all the things you can do with the program. Making modifications to existing maps works great as well (that's how I learned alot about hammer).

Websites like the official source sdk one contain alot of information about the tools, how to make certain things (setting up gamemodes etc).

Also tutorials from tf2maps, a mapping community, are great to learn how to use hammer.

For youtube tutorials, I suggest 3kliksphilip or TopHATTwaffle. They make great tutorials.

You can only make 1 brush at a time with the block tool, so you have to make multiple brushes (and press enter multiple times) to make an object. (That is probably a dumb answer to your question, perhaps you can get a screenshot of what you are trying to make?)

If you have any question related to hammer, feel free to ask me (or any other mapper withing lz ofcourse :) )
