So about a year ago I posted something about myself and Snelvuur getting a watch from kickstarter that connects to your phone. Well it's finally come for me, way later than the expected September 2012 but hey ho! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597 ... nd-android God how dirty is my keyboard :|
Ah that is quite awesome. Already had the chance to try it out and stuff? Does it live up to your expectations? Things you didn't expect? (Both good and bad)
Well from first thoughts: Pros: - Really easy to use, you'd have to be stupid to not understand the buttons. - Easy to read screen in the sun etc - The default watch faces are nice, for example that one on the picture & one that shows "13 09" in big text is sexy. - Compatible with apps such as LightFlow, so you can make whatever you want come to the phone. Also "If this then that" also works with it so you can pretty much send whatever you what to the watch (I'm sure Snelvuur will be doing a "server is down" one soon xD) - It pushes notifications instantly to the watch - View things on phone and send to the watch instantly - The charger is real nice, a magnetic attachment - Battery life, cant comment yet but apparently ~5 days Cons: - They still haven't released the SDK which is annoying - The "default" features haven't been realsed yet (Run Keeper, FreeCaddie etc) - The vibrate is too heavy imo, you seem to hear it rather than feel it. - I don't think it would be that comfortable if you have a bony wrist, the shape isn't circular to might be slightly uncomfortable Apart from that I like it atm, just hope they hurry up with the SDK and apps...
I saw the kickstarter a really long time ago and I totally forgot about. I really want one but I can't afford it :/
Great now i feel even more outdated due not possessing a smartphone. Looks and sounds nice, Alias! I remember the thread for it, glad it managed to be around it's expectations! ^^ Flying cars? Where we're going we're not going to need any flying cars! *teleports with his device* I would love to get a hoverboard though.
Yea, preordered one too, during the Kickstarter. While it most certainly will be an interesting toy, it just isn't as fancy as my current watch. Looks a bit very plastic-y.
Well there isnt much to do with it until the sdk comes out. Its nice though, really helped when I was around London, no bother getting my phone out just look at my watch
