Im sure we have all been up against a heavy rush, the only way to counter it effectively is to do the same yourself, but the momentum they often build up is too much to stop. After one team does it it often encourages another to do the same and gets kinda boring, fortunately you dont see it too often. I recorded this a couple of weeks back and finally got round to exporting and uploading it. This shows just how effective a heavy rush is and i wondered if a tighter class limit is needed, or even wanted? Should other classes also have tighter limits? All feedback welcome. EDIT: The video only just finished uploading, but should be availably in 1080p soon enough.
No. It's just public, somewhat the only place you can try out some crazy stuff (like a lot heavy, engi's, kritskrieg-engi or whatever). Don't fuck it up by giving it too many limits like class limits. If you want limits and some teamwork maybe, go play a lobby/pickup or play a war with your team in 6v6. My opinion..
Think the classlimits are fine now to have some sort of evened out gameplay for all maps. Of course it can be adjusted per map if really needed.
did i see 5!!! heavy's :s god 2 heavy's are allready OP if i was playing that match i would have ragequit at the beginning of the round allready :s this is just plain anoying :s even if it's public... people want to ENJOY this game not get steamrolled by a group of OP classes... and before you say anything spy's and snipers don't even work anymore with this number of heavy's...
It was 5 heavys, the cart never stopped once and i believe i was the only heavy that died. Perhaps leave other class limits, but i believe the heavy limit should be tighter.
Thanks for reminding me why I have the Q3 hitsound instead of the default one. It's payload, that's crap anyway, be thankful it's over faster like this. This isn't viable on the "decent" gametypes, or at least not as good as demonstrated here.
Ignoring your slur on payload <_< You can change the hit sound? I normally disable it when i play heavy or pyro but it does get jarring sometimes.
Well I like it.. kinda. You can do stuff on it you can't in 6v6 or on 5CP maps (but also the other way around..). But srsly. Too tight classlimits are shit (don't really care about the heavy, since I hardly play it), it sucks when you wan't to play a class but you can't because of those limits. I think the classlimits are good right now. And no heavy's aren't hard to kill, it just costs you a lot of ammo. And as a sniper, they are the most easy kills but you just need a little bit more time for it (to charge your rifle..)
You will get used to me bashing payload. You can, I changed it to the Q3 one, more info here. http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/forums/thread/422045/ You know me too well 8)
so much heavy's.. just go demo and sticky the stuff.. game over.. sometimes i have these moments where i go "god, just take it out as demo" (when i am medic) then i just go demo, take something out and switch again. If your up against a couple of regular demo's you wont make it that far..
hey, is that Q3 hitsound still working for you on all the lz servers? mine isn't working on server #1 and #2 etc, but for some reason it works in the 2fort server... it's quite annoying not to hear any hitsounds maybe i should go through the settings again...
Are you sure that two snipers can't take them out if the rest of the team protects them and keeps the heavies busy?
With 5 heavies i think we could afford to spread our fire around at different targets So im guessing no one wants to see an end to heavy armies
that never happens. People often leave when this happens, so that means there are slots for friends. Call in some back up, team up with demo medic, or as sniper+protector. Don't wait for unknown people to help you. oh btw, I still love payload for pubs
