mid round admin map changes

    about 20 mins ago after a great game of dusbowl the map changed to 2fort. Within 2 minutes of the game start the map was changed to castle. When I asked what was with the map change during the round, before a round had even been played, the answer I got was along the lines of "2fort is a crap map that's only fun for pyros".

    Yes I am a pyro and yes I like 2fort, its small, there are lots of routes and it;s rather fun running around burning people.

    Now why can I even get 1 round on a map that's more suited to my preferred class? Just because the admin wants to get back onto a map that suits their play style/class. Yes there was a map vote, put to us, but it was for the next map, not a "do you want to change map" vote. Why couldn't the admin wait for 1 complete round. Be fair to the people who like the map. I wasn't the only one on the server who was annoyed by the map change.

    Yes 2fort may not be a map you like, but other people may, so its only fair that you let them play it after they played all the maps you liked.

    All I'm asking is that in future the admins wait for at least 1 round per map, not change it as soon as its loaded for them, which I've seen happen or within 2 minuites of the game starting.

    Yes castle is a great custom map. but there's not much cover for us pyros, especially since most of the people who like the map cant resist changing to demo/soldier and spamming to get kills.


    castle, dusbowl, badlands, well and granary get rather boring after a while.

    It was me who made the vote.

    And I personally like the map, but when people leave, and start saying they are gonna leave cause of the little map, with 20 people its to small.
    Then I will make a vote, and not a vote for nextmap after 3 rounds.

    Most will indeed turn Demo/Soldier or Sniper.
    I to play alot with Pyro, no matter what map.

    And I think I saw 2 people asking about the map change, and 1 was you.

    Next time I make a custom vote I will include current map, tthen you can see what people want to play.

    Keep inmind, we want a full server, on which we all can have fun.

    I can't help Castle wins the multimapvote? I thought I gave enough choice.
    Next tme I will wait a few rounds, and after a few leave I will make a new mapvote with the current map in it.

    All I want is to have fun, on a full server, not on an empty 1.

    Granary/well often tend to have a larger effect on depopulating the server than 2fort.

    yesterday i had the same thing ... the server was almost full and the map badlands came up . i think its a crap map , we played 6 quick rounds and then we where left with 8 people . the ones who like the map have played it but then it was time for a mapchange , i set it on dustbowl (trough a vote) and the server was filling up again .

    I'd change the map when a lot op people start complaining, but I always let the round end before switching. Badlands is a fine map when teams are even and the killrate is high.

    As I said in another thread, I miss playing on good old 2fort and hydro lately, its nothing but badlands, granary and bowl/pit all the time. Maybe one of the two servers could just get a full default map cycle?

    really good that you given sugestions, but we want to make both server happy to play! we can indeed make 1 server with a complete regular maplist. But why not make 2 server with both different mapcycles and include some customs?

    I would like to see ctf_splat re added to the cycle.
