So since I got my PC, I've been using a Wireless (yes I know, shoot me) Logitech mouse that's just the standard two button scroll mouse. But I've stuck with it because I like it's weight and it's comfortable. The reason I've stuck with it as Wireless is when I've played with Wired ones the wire seems to drag and affect my play. The only downside is it is a BITCH when it comes to eating batteries. http://www.hardware-outlet.de/images/product_images/original_images/16_0.jpg Anyway, I'm asking everyone again what mice they have, how much they were and if they would recommend their's or another one they have seen. My budget is £40-50 but feel free to suggest a tad over this. Bear in mind I would like one that's maybe weighted, has a clicky scroll (where it's notched) and if anyone knows how to get around the drag issue of Wired mice it would be much appreciated. I'm doing some research now and the only two that have caught my eye is the Razer Imperator and Abyss. Obviously 5 buttons would be dandy. http://store.razerzone.com/store/ra...e/categoryID.35208800/listPriceAscending.sort http://www.computersfile.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/razer-imperator-gaming-mouse.jpg Oh P.S. Gaming Mousepad suggestions would also be welcome.
i still use my logitec MX518 with a razor exactmat and new skates (the plastic thingy's the mouse glides on) and i don't even want an other mouse any more hahahaha and on the cord getting stuck, i gave my cord some room to move so i won't get stuck (or at least not so quick)
I'm using the Logitech's G5 at the moment. Never had much trouble with the cord and you can adjust the weight if that really matters. It's pretty light without any weights, probably makes up for the cord
The thing about the cord is, I have a very thin desk. It's only 45cm in length to the wall. So far I've got good recommendations on the Razor Deathadder and the Logitech G5.
also a good mouse yes, it's the advanced version of the mx518 (and it was a lazor mouse i think haha)
What I heard from a friend about Razer is that their products have a little "plastic" aspects that make them a little... you know, cheap, whereas their cost is not really low :° . Also, that same friend told me Logitech ones were cheaper and (almost) as good as Razer's, without that plastic feeling in your hand ^^. Also, I guess it's not really what you're looking for but this mouse is just awesome : http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/rat9.htm
also forgot to say, and this is pure my opinion (some agree some don't haha) but for me the mx518 and the G5 have (like most logitec) a very nice grip and a thumb-rest like i like to call it haha and 2 thumb-buttons (my reload and jump button hehe) razor feels kinda flat imo but it's realy personal taste (best thing to do is try the mouse if u have a friend with one of those mouses)
Im going to recommend you my setup, Since ive been using it i have noticed a big difference in my aim. MOUSE: Razer DeathAdder Play £46.29 Amazon £44.99 excluding p&p Mousepad: SteelSeries Steelpad S&S Solo Gamers Play £29.99 SteelSeries SteelPad QCK heavy (ideal if you use low-mid sensitivity setting like i do) Play £15.99
I just weighed my mouse and it weighed 120g, is that a lot? Bear in mind it has batteries in but I really like the weight of it, so hopefully I can one that is similar. Thanks for the replies so far guys
i'm using a simple microsoft intelli explorer. 4 buttons and a wheel, with cable (which i never found in any way hindering). only a few weeks ago my old mouse broke and i spent some time searching before getting a new one...and i found none that were in any way better or warranted the high costs they were asking, so i got exactly the same one again. all these exotic looking "ergonomic" mouses just don't do it for me.
I personally use a Razer Salmosa, it was about £20 when i bought it but i regret not spending more and getting the Deathadder, im waiting for it to wear out so i can upgrade DeathAdder My brother has this mouse and in the few times i have sneaked in a session with it i can say it is very good, better than my current mouse and very comfortable; he also recommends it very highly. There is also a left handed version, but i presume you dont need it has you did not specify that. I currently use this Mousemat But i have the large white version, which is obviously just bigger and white. I wish i had the black one however as my mousemat has a large brown stain where my wrist wrests (from sweat, i tend to sweat a lot when im gaming D The size far surpasses my needs as i tend to play with a reasonably high sensitivity. The mousemat also comes with feet to add to your mouse should the ones it comes with wear out. Prices from the site i have quoted: Mouse: £42.88 Mousemat: £20.21
the specs MX518 (108g) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logitech_MX-518 G5 (116g unweighted) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logitech_G5 Razer deathadder (133) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razer_DeathAdder think this will help you find what you need seeing those one of the best logitec game mouses and razer is always more targeted at gamers haha also the exactmat i use is 2 sided a rough "control" side and a smooth "speed" side
If you mean 120 grams, then that's ridiculous... even with the heaviest weights my G5 is only up and around 50-70 grams I think (max extra weight is 36 grams) and most people already find it a bit heavy without that max weight. Good luck finding SUCH a heavy mouse :| Anyway, I love my G5. it looks awesome and has a nice grip. it has 2 thumb buttons, which by default function as page forward/backwards in internet browsers (settings can be easily altered with the added software, which isn't needed if you don't want to change the buttons, or want to set up to 5 different mouse DPI settings) and I have my push to talk mumble key on one of them.
You sure about that Killvion? Also when I get a new one I plan on adding Mumble to a side button instead of V I think so far the G5 and Deathadder are coming out on top so far. How are those two mouses in terms of accidentally pressing the sidekeys? Never had a mouse with them or tried one out. @Kittens, yeah I'm right handed so no worries there.
I got a Razer Copperhead (2000 dpi) on a Razer Destructor mousepad. Really happy with that last one, the mouse really slides so easy over it and it's just.... great. Anyway, about the mouse. I think any Razer will do, if you pick one that you like most and you think is the most comfortable for you. Steelseries should be good as well I think, but I've never had one of those. And I wouldn't recommend logitech for gaming mouses tbh
why not? I love it. Oh and I don't use a mousepad... is that weid/bad? @zipp, one of the briliant things I like the most of google chrome, if you press page backwards, and then forward again, the page hasn't changed. f.e. I can type this post here but don't submit yet. go a page back scroll a bit and then go forward again and my typed text is still here. However it happens to me rarely. Only when I go from typing with 2 hands to my mouse to fast or something like that. And am I the only one who thinks that 120 grams is extremely much?
I have a Razer Mamba, the best wireless gaming mouse : when the battery's are out just plug in the cord from your reciever. Its not cheap but without the cord it doesnt counter dragg. But remember as every cordless mouse its shuts itself down when not used, so after a while you need to wake it up. (My gf HATES it) Mouse pad: razer pro (its from steal) like it alot. youre aim improves from it alot.
pressing key's by accident never happens to me (not even the DPI buttons haha) i need to lift my thump to press the key's i realy like how it fits in my hand. i realy like my logitec i once used my brother-in-law's razor and it realy didn't sooth me that's why i said that it's a personal thing. zippy is the only one who knows what he thinks fit's best (i think seeing you allready have a logitec the G5 is your best bet -> just a tought because that's why i chose a new logitec and not a razer) kill it's not weird to play without haha i did it for years. only thing i know is that the scates wear down faster (2€ new scates and even better then the original haha) And now i can't even play without the mousepad hahahaha
hehe, funny to see how it depends of people ^^ yep, another feature stolen from Opera </troll> Personnaly, i play with an (old) microsoft mouse (must have paid 10€ for it years ago  ). I never tried a gaming mouse so I just assume it's not that bad, even if it's too little to fit in my hand (far too little ! but when i started playing tf2 i had a laptop wireless mouse which was about 10cm so it's already better ^^), and acts weird quite often (in game, i point at the sky or at the floor and then turn really really fast... whereas i'm not moving the mouse ^^' quite annoying when you're fighting. I tried with a mousepad and if happens even more often...). Also, it's not precise at all. But i'm used to it
The mouse has a nice place for your thumb right under the two sidebuttons, where you can hold it straight in a natural position for good grip. So you have to do some effort to move the top of your thumb up a bit and click the buttons, I don't remember myself ever accidentally pressing them. I don't use them a lot though, but now I've tried them for a sec, they are really easy to use; even if you were to play paranoid Scout.
