First off, I want to ask if it is at all possible to get a custom HUD JUST for the Engineer. I realise this is 99.9% unlikely as the HUD is constant, but thinking about it now your HUD changes a lot depending on your class anyway. I've been looking at the ETF2L forums and they have a whole thread on them. The only ones that caught my eye were: Toasty's, PV's and Chief's. So; 1) do you use a custom HUD? 2) Is it easy to install and uninstall? 3) Is it updated frequently by the creator/community? 4) Why would you recommend it? 5) What resolution do you play at and is it supported on all resolutions? 6) Link please.
For 6v6 play i really like: <a class="postlink" href="http://code.google.com/p/communitytf2hud/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://code.google.com/p/communitytf2hud/</a> However its not a class specific, though it has specific things for each classes etc. Cheers
I find the score overview of the Community Hud on 1280x1024 not aligned (ping of red side is outside screen) with the 16v16 overview... (yeah, I play on such servers sometimes). its not delivering a 16v16 for 4:3 res as far as I can find. If I remember again how to do it myself, I put on the default one with some edits in it. My monitor went garbage, no image anymore. So I have to play now on a small 17" 1280x1024 screen :S As for working with resolutions, you will find that with lower resolutions (fixed reserved screenspace etc) and with 4:3 resolutions (things set up too wide, outside the screen) some huds will be flawed, and you need then to replace some files with 4:3 ones. I'd really could do with a adjust for engineer, the upper left taken out for the icons of sentry, disp and teleporters is hindering me on lower res now :S
Gah that's incredibly annoying. Been using PVHUD since before the last bump by Oldy. Looks like when Valve adds something new I'll have to get a new one. It's good too.
I use PVHud. But i've been wondering . Are there better huds? Cause ive been thinking of switching :|

Sorry, but did anyone even look at the DATE of these posts? Anyway, I'm using FrankenHUD: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1338923.
I've been using toasty hud for quite a long time. It's quite easy to install/uninstall About the updates, well, usually it's updated within one to two weeks after the release of all-breaking patches Why should I recommend it ? dunno, it's quite nice from all points of view I play on 1680*1050 and there are many resolutions (including scoreboards) It seems you already have the link
i think an otherone is overlooked: m0rehud i use it, quite simple, but all you need is there edit: seems like it isn't on anymore... like it tho
1) Yes, Oxide HUD 2) Yes, just copy 2 folders 3) If an update breaks it, it gets fixed in a day or two 4) It only shows the things you need 5) 1920x1080 and yes 6) <a class="postlink" href="http://ben.clnsky.com/tf2hud/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ben.clnsky.com/tf2hud/</a>
Broesel HUD is an updated version of that HUD. <a class="postlink" href="http://code.google.com/p/broeselhud/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://code.google.com/p/broeselhud/</a>
