a friend of mine just installed tf2 and is experiencing a crash whenever he joins a server. he can play offline against bots on highest graphics but can't join a single server, when he does it crashes out of the game and he gets a pop-up saying hl2 has stopped working
he tried verifying his cache didn't work, also putting out all programs on background and setting graphics real low didn't work

does anyone have an idea so he can normally join servers and play?

You need to be able to right click to join a server, maybe that is his problem.

No sorry have no idea how to fix a mac. Has he tried Steam Support?

    Get a windows fanboy friend.

I'm kinda laughing about this problem.
Usually apple fanboy give a fuck about no-one but apple users. And yet they ask for windows users' help...

Have you tried turning off multi core rendering in the settings and then joining? I remember a while back it screwed up my brothers tf2 on his mac...
