" Bereits vor einigen Tagen wurde bekannt, dass mehrere Spieler und weitere Personen aus dem eSport zu einem Treffen im Valve-Hauptquatier eingeladen wurden. Dort wurde den Anwesenden am heutigen Tag mit Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ein neuer Spieletitel vorgestellt.
Das auf der Source-Engie basierende Spiel soll dabei verschiedene Elemente der bisherigen Valve-Erfolgstitel sowie der Call of Duty-Serie enthalten. Während die Maps auf den ersten Blick sehr wie CoD-Varianten der CS:S-Maps aussehen sollen, gehören unter anderem auch Molotov Cocktails zum gängigen Waffenarsenal.Darüber hinaus soll es einen Competition-Modus und ein Match-Making-System, bei dem die Spiele auf einem von Valve gestellten Server ausgetragen werden, geben. Neben der Möglichkeit, deutlich stärker durch Wände schießen zu können, sollen sich auch die Flash-Granaten eher an CS 1.6 anlehnen. Auch das Tagging der Waffen soll sich im Vergleich zu CS:S deutlich erhöht haben, im Gegensatz zu CS 1.6 allerdings vom Schaden der jeweiligen Waffe abhängen.

Erscheinen soll das Spiel aller Voraussicht nach im ersten Quartal 2012. Eine offizielle Pressemitteilung seitens Valve wird für die kommenden Stunden erwartet."
