Special servers, deserve a special topic These servers can also use new maps once in a while. Sometimes the plugin creator brings them in after a update, sometimes the players do. Dodgeball hasn't been changed recently I believe but probably could use some new or updated maps. Prophunt just got updated with the following: Updated maps: ph_cargo_b7 ph_sawmill_a2 New maps: ph_spookyharvest_a2 And again... Leave your findings and suggestions here. Bad maps could be replaced by other maps but you, the player, will have to let us know about that. And... always give a new map a chance. Play it a few times, get to know it, play it some more. Still no good? Tell us
i`m knowing alot of site maps one db like boombing (its to big and to mutch nukes! more later! (i know not all the bad maps in my head!)
I think we should try get Redcoart_b6 (really fast) or Champion B21(single player target) Some really great maps, try look into it 8)
eum champion is on the server only B14 not the goood wan and redcourd is bad idea the older version is better!
Bwah, it's late and I should sleep, however, before I go I wanted to ask something. I have made a medieval themed map for prophunt and it'd of course be great if it got played since... well that's why I created it.. So here's me wondering what the correct way to go is for these sorts of things. After looking around on the forum for a bit I figured this was the best topic to ask, so yeah.. let me know. P.s.: Let me state up front that It's my first 'serious' attempt at tf2 mapping so it really isn't perfect in any way but hey, a man's gotta learn some way right?
does the map work? (this is a serious question yes hehe) do you have a download link for the map? do you have some screenshots? uuuuuhhhm... well any other info on the map would do (screenshots are welcome) and if the rest of the admins agree and the map works fine it can/will go into the rotation (after it's tested offcourse)
+1 Show us some screenies and make the map available for download here so we can take a look at it as well.
Of course I can provide screens and thus I shall do so: Spoiler It's been tested twice with a decent amount of people now and mostly what I got from that was that some people got horrible fps drops at certain points in the map, so I changed it up a bit, changed the setting to night time and added some fog to go along with it, this helped somewhat but I never tested the map after that so I don't know if it's working well for everyone. Anyhow, my biggest concern is that the map might be a bit too big for prophunt (unless you've got a full server playing, then it might be alright. don't know, haven't had the chance to test that) Also, download links for the map and .cfg of course (last time I checked the cfg was setup correctly but that's from February this year so don't know if anything's changed about that, might want to check just to be sure.) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2028950/ph_medieval_a5.bsp http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2028950/ph_medieval_a5.cfg
Ugh crap, I now realize again why I didn't continue with this one, I wasn't done optimizing it yet but failed hard at it so sort of gave up, some objects now suddenly appear when you enter certain rooms, ohwell.. let me know if you guys like the map enough and if it's worth finishing then I'll see what I can do about fixing those little 'bugs'.
Hello again, As it so happens to be I was bored out of my mind last friday and figured I might as well go on and give this prophunt mapping thing another go. So here we are a few days later and I present a new map by my hand: Screens for those who like: Spoiler So yeah, another map, this one might be a bit small, haven't had the chance to test it with a decent amount of people of course. but it has a fair amount of escape routes out of every room so I'm hoping it'll play more like a prop-hunt map instead of a prop-hide map (also, the round time is fairly short, so that should help I hope). I'll just leave this here and hopefully you'll all like it (and if not, so be it). ye olde download links be here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2028950/ph_chapel_rc1.bsp http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2028950/ph_chapel_rc1.cfg (also, if anyone does decide to give it a go and happens to find any bugs please let me know, I've been staring at this thing for the past 72 hours or so and therefore I might not notice things others might.)
Updated the download links for the chapel map, looks like this'll be a pretty final version unless some major bugs/errors appear. So yeah, hopefully you'll all like it and it'll get played otherwise if not well too bad I guess.
Yes, that's probably because last night we tried to play it but it failed so I replaced it for another version. I've probably fixed the problem already, however I wanted to make sure it was completely working before I 'released' the new version so I tried installing sourcemod and prophunt on my laptop, however, I fail with that sort of stuff and couldn't get it to work. So now I'm left with the choice of either releasing it again (with a very small risk of failing again) or seeing if I can get my server up and running first. Anyhow, I'll add you and send you the link so you can run around in it if you like of course.
For khadgar, I've asked if dram could make a map list with xx amounts of layers for our map chooser..
