Same story as for the topic New Maps - TF2 All Maps 1 & 2 only difference is that I added those maps when I setted up the PL server on our new dedicated server back in Januar. Players couldn't handle all the new maps back then so most of them were taken out of the cycle again. Now the players are ready it seems so Kick The Bucket recently added them back to the cycle So currently following maps are available on the Payload server: pl_goldrush pl_badwater pl_hoodoo_final plr_pipeline pl_swiftwater pl_cashworks_rc2 pl_great_heights_b3 pl_jungle_a1c pl_cranetop_b8 pl_waste_v2 pl_frontier pl_dustbowl_b4 pl_mill_b5 pl_deadwood pl_rivercrossing_rc1 pl_2fort_multipath_rc3 pl_outback_rc3 pl_wintertown_v2 plr_animus_a8 plr_arctic_c plr_cornfield_c1 plr_highwind_a4 plr_nightfall_c plr_panic_b1 plr_rollout_a3 plr_scoville_c2 plr_solitude_b1 Leave your findings and suggestions here. Bad maps could be replaced by other maps but you, the player, will have to let us know about that. And... always give a new map a chance. Play it a few times, get to know it, play it some more. Good thing ! But i think for now it will still be upward->hightower->bawater->goldrush circle that said, swiftwater is more and more played, which is great =D so maybe some maps will know the same glory ^^ Thanks for this update =)
I think thats mainly because in the beginning on the new server we had lots of randoms. Now a days we have more and more regulars playing. They tend to stick around longer and give maps a chance more. Personally I love cranetop. Its really a bitch to complete :badgrin: You're welcome
I would personally be happy to see swiftwater removed completely, but thats just my opinion. Shall look forward to playing all these new maps.
Cranetop emptied the server indeed. I played it few times and I can tell you it's a very unbalanced map.
I kinda don't know.. As Alias already told, I was entering the payload server this morning, all maps 1 and 2 were full, and payload had 23/24. Apparently I joined exactly at the ending of the map, because it said pl_water when I joined *I think, kinda don't remember anymore* and the loading screen told me that it was loading the map 'pl_cranetop B8'. When I came out of the loading screen, there were only 6 players left in the server, that means that 18 had left because of the map *yes, 18, because I wasn't part of the 23/24*. But apparently there are also people who liked the map, because I started a vote, asking if I should change the map, and the answer was No. So we played that map until time ran out, then I started pl_badwater and the server was back to 24/24 within a couple of minutes x).. So on one hand you can say that the map should be removed because everyone leaves, but on the other hand we also are pretty 'exclusive' to have it, because the 5 other people that stayed all stayed until the end of the game. I think we should keep it, admins can always change the map if the server is going empty.
So....the full server emptied to 6 people (including you) in a balanced team that is 3 vs 3, a server #1 & #2 supports 24 players (12 vs 12) and you played the whole round with 3vs3 while the server didn't fill, if it's really a server-emptier I would say remove. P.s: I think saying for the exclusive-shinyness is like saying you and few others like to eat bananas while the others don't and still order 2000 bananas for the whole group.
Could also have another causes... what if something is wrong with the map on the download server? Would explain why it stayed empty. (Edit: just tested it, downloads fine) What if players are to impatient to wait for the download? If 18 of them have to download it it could be a bit slow. What if.... (you make some up) But agreed, if we're sure al is working as it should and it happens again we might consider dumping it however I still think its a good map to play.
When I joined the server, all people that were in spectator mode were the 5 others that joined the game. I didn't see any people in spectator mode that really 'left' the game, so everybody left in the loading screen.. So they either clicked 'cancel', or something went wrong in the loading screen.. 18 people clicking 'cancel' at the same time seems a bit.. much.. right? Also, the map came on right at lunch time iirc, so I think we should at least give it another shot and see how many people will stay, somewhere right in the middle of the day or something
other nice map that looks super nice (very nice custom cart) and it has been updated recently so if there are bugs they should be fixed soon (or RC is comming soon hehe) http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8041
sorry for the late response, but Cranetop is really a server emptier. People find it to long, to hard and not balanced enough. And I share the opinions. Although it's very cool that you have to lower the bomb on the cart and stuff, a good heavy sniper (yes I really mean a heavy and a sniper) can pretty easily block the cap for ages.

I would like to ask you to update the pl_dustbowl to the last version. The final version is much better (judging from my own experience) then b4 version on this server. As for swiftwater, i can say that this has become almost an official map. Very nice. Very balanced and interesting to play on. I still had a bad experience on cranetop, frontier and cashworks. The last two are wayyyyyy too big and long.
