hi i just received a message from zippy and the url looked pretty weird i changed the http to httTp so nobody will click on it
Yes, jer9 also just made a topic about it. I got it too. Jer warned me on time though and Zipp went offline.
I never click on a link when they're directly sent to me with a suspicious text, first i check the link and then I say something totally random!
I usually do check the link, i dont know why i didnt this time. I'm just glad i noticed before loggin into it.
No idea, I hope he responds quickly. BTW He renamed himself to: DO NOT JOIN COMMUNITY T35 So I think he still manages his own account somehow.. But I'm too scared to talk to him xD
Looks like he managed to change his password in time |LZ| LethalRabbit: are you still there =o? DO NOT JOIN COMMUNITY T35: yeah Im back DO NOT JOIN COMMUNITY T35: it was a phising attempt
yeah, metamess also interrogated zipp to find out if it was the real one. He'll probably come to the forum soon and explain everything
Well... Zippy lost his admin rights directly after the spam was send as a security measure. Told him to open a topic to ask back his rights. ALWAYS check the url people send you before you click it. In this case it was obvious that its on a completely different domain (t35.com) than whats used normally. I sure hope he wont get VAC banned. Earlier today I got the same request from someone else in my friends list so be warned !
I'm fine and I seriously hope something doesn't happen with VAC. As mentioned in the other threads: "Yes I clicked the Community link, my brother is round and I rarely see him so we had some drinks. Two close friends linked to Steam Community and it hijacked my account temporarily so I couldn't log back in. I realise it sent spam messages to other people and that was not under my control. Please re-add me if you ignored or blocked me. I was a tad tipsy and it is a lesson to learn. Please re-instate me as Admin if that is ok." I've changed my password so fingers crossed everything is OK. They need to announce this on Steam Forums IMO.
What did that link actually do? Ask you to login on a fake Steam Community site? They even misspelled steamcommunity :| steamccommunitily, like seriously? What are they, Nigerians?
No I already explained this in my thread if you'd care to read.....jesus. It used the Steam User Interface and asked you to log in. Your account name was already there it just needed a password. It kept saying it was currently in use another machine.
dont get your knickers in a twist, we are in fact having a bit of a laugh too here.. i mean it is funny..
Har har. Wouldn't have been funny if I'd lost all my games, and that is a fuck ton. Why is it funny that someone goes through so much hassle and it happens when it would be the worst time to happen? And remember I link Knightmare accidentally clicked it too.
Also I've had an extremely stressful week, probably the most stressful in 5 months. So it didn't help.
