Awesome games done quick (AGDQ) is a speedrun event in which 115 games will be played in the fastest possible time.
while the event is going, donations can be made for the prevent cancer foundation. The goal of this year is to get 500.000 dollar for the research of cancer.
the stream started at 17:00 GMT+1 (european amsterdam time) and has already brought up 23.000 dollar and a peak of 60.000 viewers.

i myself am really interested in the mirror's edge speedrun on thursday but it's really fun to look at all those different (old) games being played so cleverly ^^

indeed there are just too many oldschool games i don't know either.
Also if you donate you can also put it towards a donation goal, that can be a harder difficulty for a game, a sing-along with the music or other random stuff. it's really cool to watch even if you don't know anything about the games, half of the time the runner will explain a lot about it anyway ^^

I'm really interressed into that charity event, I loved it last year and this year, it looks even more amazing. ^^
I've played lots of the game they play and it blow my mind how they can finish some of them so fast (Super mario world in 35 min without any warp? The hell? o_O)

I really want to see both Zelda N64 run and the metroid prime run (too bad for this one, i'll probably sleep before this one happen :I )

some of the times are really inconvient for us europeans yeah :c
metroid prime looks real fun to speedrun! some out of bound skips and actual routing in a fps game isn't very common

Been watching the stream monday and tuesday nights during working on school stuff, that was fun ^^ Too bad most of the games I'm interested in happen when I'm not available !

I'm also pretty amazed at the amount of donations they got (358k$, wow) and the average amount (31$ is pretty nice).

At least, we can rewatch what we couldn't see, like the F-Zero GX run (this game is insane)

Apparently, they have done a new World Record for Secret of Mana :D

100.000 viewers watching a skyrim speedrun. unbelievable really!
also twitch donated 5000 dollar because they maxed out viewer count on a single channel. pure awesomeness at agdq ^^

    I've been stuck watching this the whole week and some of my favorite runs have been;
Metal Gear Solid, Battletoads, Megaman X race, Barkley Shut up and Jam! Gaiden (yes that's a game), Donkey Kong glitch runs and Hitman: Blood Money.

Always entertaining to watch some speedruns. :D

luckily the stream was restored in time, it was a good race and ovendonkey won it (from mirror's edge)
there is now a mike tyson's punch out block and they are doing it blind folded. i mean really these guys got some skills! the crowd genuinely goes wild!
