Today after some hours of playing Lethal Zone's server #1 gave me problems. For instance,my ping went incredibly high(206 and such). Since the server is located in Germany, and i'm playing from Italy i doubt it's distance-related(Italy and Germany even border) The strange part is that it began really quickly, matter of seconds. My ping went from 55 to more than the limit! I also tried connecting to other servers and I didn't experience difficulties... I really like playing on LZ servers,so I really need to know what's going on!
Everything can be a problem when playing on Steam anyway post your score of this http://www.pingtest.net/ and http://www.speedtest.net/ PLz test also with a server around Munich (Germany) Maybe its just your connection
I got B! Ping 34 And Jitter 2ms (I put it in my signature) EDIT:it seems that's all fault of my connection to german servers! I tested with a server near munich and I have 183 ms of ping. The mistery is why. ANOTHER EDIT:now it's all fine,i just rebooted the router and now the ping is fine! That's a strange world... UPDATE:No,I still have a ping of 150,whilst I used to have a 55 one.The problem however is my connection, the server's ok.Anyone knows a solution? I solved it(i hope)It seems that there was a wireless connession activeted yet not used,i disactiveted it and now it's fine.
Internet routing is not as logical as you would expect. It's very likely you will have a far better connection to Spain or Portugal then to Germany. On a pc you can do a tracert ( shows how many hops you have before connected to a server) don't know the mac equivalent for that.
I had the same problem yesterday, as well as 80% of the players at that time. Pings where as high as 350 and the lowest one was 120.
Do you have a anti-virus program that automatically updates itself? And is your problem always, often or now and then? Is your ping better if both your pc and router are only just turned on after a period (hours) of rest? Try to find other german servers and connect to them, see how that works out. Oh and, dunno if you are aware of it, but Germany and Italy don't border... Swiss and Austria are still in between
