Pure client stuff

    Whenever I have played at Lethal Zone and try to join another server it gives me an error, it says my client is not pure and thus I can't connect to other servers. I always need to reboot TF 2 then so I can connect to other servers.

    What is causing this? I only have it when I have played on LZ servers so I think its something on that server that is causing it.

    Is a pure server error.
    For some stupid reason custom content doesn't get flushed ( in our case the welcome sound) so when you join a different server you still have that sound ''loaded'' .
    rebooting tf2 fixes that.

    You will notice that pure error with every server which has custom content and you join a different one after that.

    But hey, why join another server ;)

    Hmm so its a game bug, not a server bug. Bummer, guess we have to wait for Valve to fix it. Thanks for the fast answer.

    And I change server when the server is dying or when I am forced to play a map I don't like. ;)

    Just to explain a bit more:

    in the pure whitelist you have to write down which files are allowed. At our servers it's the lethalsound for instance.
    But on other server, they don't have that sound whitelisted ( logical) since they only will include fiels present on their servers.

    ''Solution'':

    disable sv_pure.
    But that will lead to all sorts of unwanted texture and sound hacks/misuse .

    Hihi, thought so too but it seems I join also a lot warservers and sometimes deathmatch servers (dm servers not much though). :p
    Srsly this thing has to be fixed as soon as possible imo. Don't understand why Vlave hasn't fixed it yet, is it so hard to repair something what you broke with an update? :p

    For Valve it is.
    Besides fixing they introduce a whole shitload of new bugs wit every update.

    Not sure anymore, but if you set sv_pure to 2 you dont have this problem anymore. But i'm not to sure about that anymore.

    In tf2/l4d there are not much custom textures, so i think sv_pure 1 is overrated there. Its css that mathers, but are there lots of animated customs that are not "wallhack"-proof? Because mostly custom maps are made from valve content files.

    Basicly, if you seriues got a problem with sv_pure you beter can switch it to 2.

    No, sv_pure 2 disables all content not from valve.
    So that will mean you cannot use custom content at all.

    sv_pure 0 = pure disabled, free to use any custom you want , both client as server side
    sv_pure 1= pure enabled, custom content you want to allow needs to be in a config ( pure_whitelist)
    sv_pure 2 = only valve content, no custom.
    The last setting is often used at pcws.

    Pure will check if the content you have on your own pc is the same as on the server you play on, or is free of checking where the whitelist is used for.
    If not, you get blocked.
