    Hi Soul,

Even though I am not Swedish I am going to answer because a friend of mine bought one 3 years ago. Like you he liked Volvo and wanted something solid (because he had a young kid) and reliable. Unfortunately he has been very disapointed. The car has had a lot of problems, costs a lot to service (don't know how it is in Sweden but in Belgium Volvo is a premium brand and the garages charge a lot for the service) and found the car underpowered for its weight.

On a personal note, I have never bought a Volvo cos I have also always found them underpowered. They are heavy cars but tend to have the same power as other (lighter) cars in their category.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

    Act.

The underpowerd thing is just what kind of engine you have.
If you have the Turbo or Turbo Diesel I don't think power will be a problem.

And they are tough indeed, and safe for the kids. *mind the airbags :) *

And they where build in Holland, so thats a big plus ;)

Not convinced. They have a 1.8i that only has 125bhp. The 1.9 Turbo Diesel has 115 bhp. That is painful!

about the power...it will in any case be an improvement to that, what we have now VW Golf 3 (1992) 60hp...so 100hp and a turbo will be enough for now...when i get back my licence i will look for a proper car for myself ;)

Thats the one! And the best is that it only costs 35K! (At least that is the price advertised for France which means it should be more or less the same thing in Belgium).
