What about we skip the vote and always have random crits off? Dying by random crits is almost like dying from a falling elephant from the sky (Almost  ) Which means that any one can kill you with some luck. So what do you guys think?
I for one always though that random crits where stupid. However we had a server with only competitive maps and crits off. It was dropped due too to little interest.
Well most of the times crits are off (at least on the PL server) And I dont see a reason why crits should be on every third map.
there is a vote. most people like crits, some don't. So you can vote for it, so at least you have a chance to not play with them.
I think we should keep it through votes, it works very well IMO. I don't really mind random crits, they can be fun sometimes. Most of the time BEFORE the update there was a lot(almost all the time actually) of no crits. AFTER the update I've noticed that random crits get voted more often. Guess people just want that extra little luck to kill that demoman/soldier Just wait till update hype calmed down a bit and the no crits probably get voted more often again.
yeah i always wanted a no crit server but the vote is fine with me and like stated above because of the soldier/demo (spam) update people want to just have crits so they can get easy kills (i got 3 soldier kills with a single crit so IN YOUR FACE CRIT LOVING WANKERS!!!! hahaha) just wait till after the update and crits will be voted off more often (again) but to add fuel to the discusion ( ) people won't even notice directly if crits ar of all the time hehe i think they would notice after 2 hours of gameplay wich by then they enjoyed so much they now hate random crits hehe
Ive seen you moan a few times about it, thing is, if people in there dont want them then people will have them off, but if you get outnumbered then the majority wins. Simple as that really
I always just ask players to vote crits off, I think thats not too much, they still ahve a choice. As much as I'd love crits to be off permanently I think (and I'm gonn hate myself for saying this) its better to leave the voting to the players. Although lately, before the update as well, had recieved some chat from players stating that they wanted crits to be off. |Thats why I asked bucket, if he remembers it, if he might be able to put he crits on/off vote into the admin menus single vote options, possibly replacing one of the silly questions like do you like votes or are you gay (although they are funny)
Remembering it still hehe (i never forget my job as admin  ) still looking into it how i can make it (or any other plugin) work so i can make vote's that let changes settings on the outcome of the vote (still testing plugin -> many problems found on the DB server hehe)
Well its not even necessary, as long as the vote can be created and the outcome (y/n) is returned to the calling admin, he can manually select crits on/off in the admin menu. Its more work, but at least it works and its a good replacement for an actually working system until its there.
treu i think that vote is in it haha ::EDIT:: I can use the plugin i used on DB just need to test it a litlle more. but i have a suggestion 8) how about; we disable the crits on 1 of the servers (let's say #1 -> our guinea pig server as i now get to call it hehe) and have a vote ready in the admin menu incas people do miss crits hehe maybe a vote like: no crits, normal crits, ALL crits) last (the latter maybe something for chaos Wednesday?)
Yeah, Since valve implemented them into the engine they are a part of the game. I can see how they can be annoying, but I like to have them on.
Are there statistics available for how often crits get voted on or off on the Lethal-Zone servers? Also, how does the vote work? On a hypothetical server with 20 players, if twelve people vote, seven of whom vote "crits off", five "crits on" and the remaining eight players forget or ignore the vote before the vote elapses, do crits get turned off (7 of 12 voting players want no crits) or on (only 7 of 20 players want no crits)?
