So as a test, the replay function is installed on All maps 2, however i already encountered a issue with arena servers, where the "replay" player would actually become a player in the map. Thats a big no-no, so for now even if this works out, arena cannot work correctly (for saxton that is) Have not tried on mge yet though, might be different. Anyway, report any findings for All maps 2 regarding the replays. It sends the data over to another servers from which the files are hosted through http. Tested it, and it works.
No thats just stupid, I have no idea why Valve decided to create a replay bot surley they would have thought of a different way. Even putting it in a constant spectate mode like STV would have been better. I agree with Snel, until a work around is found or realsed then it shouldnt be put on Arena
replay is enabled on the pl too now, since it's on a different machine then the am2. Same goes with the am2, if you encounter any problems, please report.
Only problem i encountered on AM 2 this morning as a disconnection error every 15 minutes or so. The game would freeze, the connection error appeared for 2-10 seconds then it went back to normal.
every 15 minutes.. i dont know what it is but i am sure more people would have visited the forum to report it if it was still there.. (assuming its not a server issue) but there is still overall lag/spikes being reported around the globe when it comes to replays.. but since its so demanding/people eagerly want to use it its turned on for now as test.
I was just one AM2 and when someone is saving a replay everyone lagging every few seconds. It needs to be taken of untill valve fix it.
Payload is windows and Am2 is linux. Valve has admitted there are problems with the replays on linux servers. Perhaps remove it from the linuxservers and put it on the windows boxes?
Uhuh. To be precise: it downloads the demo using the same thread, rather than creating a new one. So everything gets stuck while dowloading one. You can fix this by letting players download the demo from a HTTP server on the same machine.
yeah like somebody allready said it lags like a bitch and the conection error every 3 minuits (and an other nice NOT tested update) think valve ARE banging rocks together over there
I think you'd bitch less if you actually get to see the list with test cases they go through for a new update.
Update is out that should fix it, but there is still a cleanup bug which causes a hang in the system. When that update comes out (should be pretty soon) then we will enable replays.
I'm not that often on the forums anymore, but that's one of the things I noticed: That the majority of Bucki's posts could be summed up with *mimimi*. This and that people now dread new posts in the "TF2 update"-topic.
