RTV and Voteban?

Yeah, after a few rounds of boring maps (pl_dustbowl_b4, we played 5v5 after goldrush with 12v12.. Then some weird science map showed up...) I would love to see some kind of Rock The Vote system (vote for mapchange before the round ends etc)... And voteban would be great too, since some people only are there for the hell for other people. Some dude healed his spy clanmate all the time yesterday.

No, this is not another thread about maps, just... Many people try to Rtv and voteban without sucsess.

 

If you have some much troubles while you are online.
Try to add some admins to your Steamfriends list.
And call them if you have problems, sure to be 1 online.

no offence, but why are you whining so much about a bad map?

i have lots of bad experience with rtv! If you want to test out a custom and a few guys dont like the customs after the first round they all type rtv. Thats why we have disabled it!

and voteban! great.. let player ban each other! that is what we want...

like i said in the other thread.. just connect to a different lethal-zone server. I'm sure there is always goldrush on...

 

Healing a teammate is worthy a ban?! I was the one who set cp_science2, just for variety. I know people complained, but that happens with goldrush also, so no big deal. Try to play/understand the map and have fun.

Maybe I'm not in the position to say that other (custom) maps should be played, I don't know, but I play 4-5 hours a day. And a constant cycle of dustbowl, fastlane and goldrush (or any other standard Valve map) gets boring quickly. Especially if you've been playing TF2 since the beginning.

The main issue with TF2 and custom maps is that you need to rely on your team for success (unlike Counter Strike, where skill and aim lets you win the round) and that you need to know the map. With customs, we ask a little more effort to learn the basics of the map, and imo few try that. The community won't live long with this mentality. Just filter the servers for custom maps, you won't find many.

RTV is quite good imo, but voteban is not necessary. But then again, rtv is abused a lot. It's not because it's there that you should use it all the time if you can't handle a map. Contact me or an other admin.

 

now i dont know much about tf2.. got it.. but didnt like it to much... so only playd like 1 or mabe 2 hours. but aint it medics job to heal players ? but still i think u mean that he only healed the one player.... yea that selfish.. but not a reason for a warning\kick or ban. just do the same.. dont provide cover for them.. make em learn team work.. thats how ive don it in games where teamwork is of essence.. they either leave or start to play as a team quite fast..

but i agree with the others... dont have rtv or any votes... leave it for the admins to issue those.. its there job.. and they are actully doin quite a good job with it.. only thing that keeps the servers as good as they are... now i only play on css server 1. so i cant talk for the other admins on the other servers.. but im quite happy with the admins on where i play.. only wish the admins wold kick them selves some time.. when i tell em to... but that never happens....

but to add the admins is quite a good idea.. and ask for help when u think something suspicious is happening. or just in need of assistense..

I think the medic was healing his clanmate who was spy on the opposite team. if it was on purpose he deserved a (short) ban..

anyway RTV, like melvin says it'll only be used in the losing team. So maybe we can activate it but only in the morning and late in the evening or something.

 

now this woldnt be fair play..il agree that this is unethical and deserves a punishment. this kinda behavior shuld not be tolerated.. well not by my standards atlest... but my standards dont count to much any how :lol:

but this is actully a problem that the admins on that server shuld take a look apon.. not some dim witted css reg player like me

Goddamn, the point of this thread was not whining about Dustbowl_b4. Just.. The server got cut in half when that map was on, it was just that.

And about the spy healing. Some dude healed his clanmate spy who was on the opposite team all the time, on purpose. Everyone saw it, everyone knew it but there was no admins on so they could'nt take care of it. No, I am not blaming the admins, but if it was a easier way to find a admin, like, on the frontpage when you join a server there could be a list over admins, that would be awesome.

Again, about custommaps : I have no problems about them, but first time you play a map you should get a clue about if the map is balanced or not. The first times I played on Dustbowl_b4 I was confused, now, after around 10-20 games the map is starting to get alittle balanced.

Yes, I see how voteban can be a problem, but I don
t have any bad problems with it, so It's fine for me, but I am sure there are some kind of options for making it more balanced.

Again, I would love to see more custom maps, but if you look on the players when those maps are on, you are most likely too see if the map is popular or not.

 

i think there shuld be an addon for css where u can type admin in console and ur massege is sendt to the admins that are online via steam... mabe eric look in to this? if it exist for css.. mabe it wold for tf2 too... that way.. u can call for an admin if needed..

But to what admin should the message be sent?
The first admin online in a list?

Who's list? A steamfriendslist?

Then all players should @ admins to friends.

*Not that that is such a bad idea, I think some, serious, regulars should have some admins in their list*

how it actully work i dont know... just can remember i have encountered it b4.. where y type (admin: (massege) ) and it wold send to the admins who was online.


but my simple mind wold think it was sending using mani admin.. since that is registerd with steam id.. il get some one to look in to it also... when i see em online..

but it wold solve the problem with the voteban... but then agen the negative sides wold be that the admins culd get a lot off huzzle... cuse of players just spamming and miss use it.. there is a negative side to every thing... we just need to finde out what we can live with...... well i mean u admins

 

It used to be with mani if you pressed @ after say and what you typed there, if you where not an admin, it would be shown to all admins on the server.

Can't think of another way that would have worked.

But making a list with admins Steamfriends id's can't be such a bad thing.
Then you can see who is online and call him to that server.

I have that sometimes. A player calls me to a server, mostly GG , and tells me what player is doing.
And then I go and check things out.

If we have enough regulars who do this, we can keep the servers clean and fun to play.

 

yea a list of admins shuld do the trick also.. if the admins dont mind doing it this way... what ever works, is fine by me..
