Heres the story: 11pm - Tuesday Night - Went to get some food from my local town with a mate. At this time of night the place is DEAD, literally no one around. Anyway while driving there, there is a pretty wide, but long one way road. It has bollards going up every 100 yards or so. On one side of the bollards are MASSIVE speed bumps. On the other side are car parking spaces. Now at this time of night there was no cars parked or around, so just like every body else does at that time of night, I drove along the car parking spaces to avoid this massive bumps at a pretty steady pace as I was chatting to a mate. I then notice a police car behind me, so I go back onto the main road and go over the 7 or so massive bumps ahead. I carry on driving for about 10mins with this police car behind of me. By this time I had forgot about going around the 2 bumps and thought I had been speeding or something. So I pulled over. Get out of the car with my mate, the police man points his finger at me and curls it so say "come here". I went over and he said: P: "Do you have any idea what you were doing there?!" Me: "Erm sorry?" P: "That was a very dangerous thing you did there" Me: "Sorry im not following you?" P: "You went around the speed bumps, thats a criminal offense" Me: "What like 10mins ago?! Are you kidding?" P: "Do I look like I am kidding. If I told you that was a £60 fine, would you do it again huh?" Me: "Well obviously not..." P: "Then dont let me catch you doing it again or you will get the fine and a record" Me: "Flippin' heck, alright" P: "What would you have done if there were cars parked in them spaces?!" ** At this point, I thought that this was an absolute joke. State the obvious day coming up ** Me: "Well I wouldnt have driven in the spaces.... :| " P: "Too right you wouldnt, DO NOT let me catch you doing that again" So yeah, all that for the most pathetic thing ever. Hell, I hate England sometimes :|
Only sometimes??? Else, move over here... but then again, cops aren't any better over here either... Got a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt, after I declared my daughter being born at the city office centre, and driving home, all inlightend, I stopped @ the shop to get the Beschuit en Muisjes, and they stop infront of me, and give me a ticket... They where following me for about 10 minutes to... stupid asses...
they warn you thats all, just do it again next time.. sometimes they pull me over (not often ofcourse) when i am doing 160 or so when you are only allowed to do 120.. i just payed the ticket and everytime in the end i say something to the cop along the lines of "i know you need to make your quota and that writing tickets is not a fun job for you too, but perhaps with this ticket some money will be left over so you can actually do some real work like catching crooks. Did i learn anything from this? Nope, i'll just do it again tomorrow since you wont be here. And the standard line when they tell me its like 150 euro's.. "pfew you scared me, i thought it was actually going to hurt my income" Ow, and for the record, my girlfriend works for the police (although not as police officer thingy but still)
Police officers have there moments. They are bitchy by nature... Once I get arrested for having alcohol on me (under 18 I was back then) Other time they ask me "Hey everything fine with you ?" when riding (bike) without lights, drunk and stoned in the middle of the night and rode threw a red light (really happend) Me and my mate answered "Yes ofcourse" and they where gone... Yours where probably the once that didn't get any punani...
Ve been thinking for 5 minutes for a moment I had with the police acting up against me... can't think of anything. There isn't any police in my town
yeah so thats what i tougt... till we were smoking weed in public (which is forbidden) and the police dropped by  so i threw the joint away and it turned out they were looking for a tall guy who threw fireworks at an old people house. Well, you know me, id do love to throw fireworks at old people... :S (what pathedic people do stuff like that) but... i just had to convince them it wasnt me, show my ID and stuff and they were off again. 2 minutes later we lighted the joint again, and gues who stopped by! the police! (i tought like... now im fucked since they came from behind me and i didnt see them comming) they: what was your name again? i have nothing against the police
Yeah, only sometimes! England is a nice place to live, except for the people that run it... The Government are increasing tax to give to the NHS (National Health Service) apparantly, even though they are making lots of workers redundant... How does that work?!
Ahh its screwed up. They raise taxes when they should just look at the bigger picture: Kids get something called EMA if there parents earn under a certian wage to influcence them to go to collage. Now im sorry, PAYING someone to go to collage. If they were that arsed about their future they should want to go without being paid. £30 per week = £120 a month = £1080 a school year for ONE pupil. Times that by everyone who has EMA and there is a hell of alot of jobs saved. Vote for me.
My friend gets EMA, even though his dad gets way above the limit. But because he works for himself, he 'doesn't take a salary'.... :? :?
Thats everywhere...In Belgium for example where rich doctor suns gets 2500 euro a year and dont need to pay college money, just because there dad "doesnt earn shit". I can get very angry about this... They put all there money in there "business" so there home isn't theres its the corporations home, just like there TV, couch etc...to buy all this they take the money from there earnings and so earn very little for themselves... Maybe police should watch for these guys....
I didn't know it is forbidden to smoke weed in public in holland? Is it? So only in coffee shops and at home or what? Man and I always tell foreign people: you can smoke in public it's legal lol..... Woops
when your over 19 and if your still studing you can get something called ALG (Adult Learning Grant) which is £50 a week.
Re: It's a "grey" area IIRC, I've never seen or heard anyone getting arrested for it, whilst they act normally.
It actually works out at £1250 a year, after the 2 £100 bonuses I got it for the last 2 years And now im doing a degree i get a maintenance grant of £2900 a year that i dont have to pay back. Man i love this country.
I didnt vote because I thought everyone of them was crap. Its just we moan about over spending and all of this shizzle when there are such small petty things that if they were taken out, sure people would moan, but the amount of money that would be saved. I think all of my mates who got EMA always just saw it as free income that they were lucky to get. The amount of times I heard people say "I need my EMA so I can fill up my car". It angers me.
