Check this out, makes hackers the hacking harder. <a class="postlink" href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/5088/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://store.steampowered.com/news/5088/</a>
To prove how effective this is (or more likely to test its security for free) Valve have released Gabe Newells account details so you can see for yourself. <a class="postlink" href="http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1780526" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1780526</a>
on one hand its pretty cool, but on the other hand i see it as an annoyance. Because everytime I want to log in another computer i have to identify myself. making it less faster to log in at friends or something.
Than you dont need the account anymore Spoiler But what if the CIA comes to kill you bring a double to your pc and he presses the password forgoten button?
meh, all nonsense.. its already 2-step with the mail address verification now, you can choose for yourself what mail address you want to use. If you use Gmail you can have there also by the phone an extra layer of authentication... If they have access to your mail, then you did NOT your job in protecting the PC against virusses by antivirus or antispyware software like: AV: - Eset NOD32 Antivirus - Avast - AVG etc antispyware measures - MVPS Hosts (use Hostsman to automatically update it) - SpywareBlaster - SpyBot S&D (don't install the TeaTimer, its more bothersome than it helps, just use the "Immunize") - SuperAntiSpyware (just to scan now and then, not needed active in tray if having above too) And use Firefox with the NoScript plugin for browser. Then your only risk will be stuff you downloaded yourself and installed/executed etc.... but for that you might use SandBoxie. I keep up a couple dozen computers of friends, family etc protected by this, and do this already for 2 decades, they only had once a infection, but that was because they didn't call me to install the security measures on their new laptop.
I have no Anti Virus and I never got hacked. My noobish rl friend has antivir and his accounts where hacked so often, he said me he wanted to download a combat arms hack or that shit ..
I usually kill my AV whenever I start up a game since it kills my performance, and I never turn it back on after that so I'm unprotected 90% of the time. I never got hacked though. With a little common sense you can make the infection chance pretty small. Of course an AV will help to make that chance even smaller
