it will become a downside to own a lot of games, ppl want to borrow it from one. I do wonder how VAC bans would be handled tho, attached to the game? to the offending account? and if to the offending account: buy 1x the game, make a alt, and hack with it, and go around VAC's by going to another account to "borrow" the game.
What do you mean Datastorm? But, if they were to do this they'd probably have you set a time. Allow "user" to borrow for 3days or something. Then it would auto return to you after 3days
what I mean is, if somebody "borrows" a game, that can be any account. hence, person A buys game, and "borrows" it to his alt account, and goes cheating with a aimbot.... who or what gets the VAC Ban: - The game he bought - The owner - The borrower. While a VAC for the borrower is logic, it doesn't stop ppl from using other alt accounts to do the same again and again. Vac for the owner means anybody can fuck up the account of some1 else. The game: means owner and anybody borrowing the game would be VAC'd for the duration of borrowing it..... it has some bad repercussions with each option, therefore I bring it up in hopes of other proposals on how it should work..
@DataStorm: Lender has VAC ban on game = can't lend that game Borrower has VAC ban on game = can't borrow that game Borrower gets VAC banned whilst using borrowed game = lender borrowing disabled for X days and user is flagged Lender gets flagged X times = game borrowing disabled But ofc, this only applies to games that use VAC Other Theories: Rank in SteamRPG affects lending ability - Must be of a certain rank to enable game lending - Higher rank = can lend to more people at once (and more borrowers can play at the same time as you) Game lending locked for X weeks after purchase
