Sudden Death Melee Only mod?

    Yes? No? Would it be possible to try it on the server for a while? it would mean that less stalemates would occur because engineers wouldn't be able to build turrets, + My axe needs more victims.

    I beleive the Fireaxe is my speciality, 76 kills, next highest is 10. Melee weapons give you a nice feeling when you down an opponent.

    I haven't played on a melee only SD server before, but it sounds like it could be fun.

    Nice suggestion man! I propose we try this out once we have the new server up and running? Seems like a lot of fun though...

    i played on a server where sudden death was melee only. all Heavy boxin each other! its a super thing and no long sudden deaths anymore. i think we should try this

    isnt it a bit unfear if you are scout? because melee scout is quicker then a heavy! so i think scout will own in melee only!

    Well Heavy has like 300 hp and Scout only 125 or sth

    i think this isnt a thing we need to try, it will fail
    the game isnt ballanced for this kinda stuff.. the hp difference is to big

    i guess its just unfair

    *what about spy?? LOL!!!

    and scout wins.. he's just to fast hit-run-hit-run-hit-run

    More fair than the team that was loosing sitting out SD camping with 6 engineers, while the good team that were winning end up loosing.

    I beleive the melee mod still allows for spy disguises and engineer dispensers. but no turrets or ubers, rocksts, grenades, etc.

    Each class either has more HP but slower speed or less hp and more speed. Some people are better suitted with the fast, low HP than the slow, high HP.

    Only 3 classes really fall out the norm. The scout, the soldier and the heavy. The rest theres not too much of a difference.

    Well, spies can kill someone in one hit from behind, other classes can't

    theres some kind of mod that youre ALL heavy's in SD. so no advantage for anyone. its ALL heavy's knocking each other in Suddendeath. saw it on a few servers i played at. and its really funny to see all heavy with their bare fists slapping each other :p

    its only in sudden death eh :p

    its reallly funny and much better then 10 camping engineers behind their sentry waiting till time runs out and you get stalemate. very annoying when you doe a rush in SD and have to wait for 4 minutes :)

    so im pro melee mod, but then a melee mod with all same class for each times, for example all heavys :p

    i guess you dont get this game then.. get some demo mens/spies, zap sentry/dispencer, shoot pipe bombs in it and bye bye sentries bye bye engineers... its sooo eays
    also with soldier... just pop around the corner shoot and get ur ass back.. sentries react much slower..

    so ur thing about camping engineers is based on nothing or a really noobish team :p

    And you obviously don't get the problem. When SD hits 1/2 the loosing team become engineers and deploy sentries, the other 1/2 are split between medics and soldiers. The winning team of the last round typically stay as their classes, perhaps a few switch to medic. Sudden death should be sudden, it shouldn't be oh lets spend 2 mins setting up sentries then the rest of the time camping it out. In SD its rather difficult for spys to be effective unless there's a lone engineer, With no respawn You really cant sake popshots with stickies and rockets at 6 sentry guns and a spy would be filled with holes if he even tried to get near one of those guns while disguised, never mind sapp one.

    Sudden death should not end in a stalemate of camping engineers. It should be quick, it should be fun and the better team should win. None of which are true with the current system, the camping loosing team sapp all the fun from the round by camping it out with turrets.

    just run like crazy to the losing team and you will take them down :D
