nah, I'd be looking for servers with that on it. At least then I can say to ppl that they are TRUE noobs. And really, differentiation with: - Trade Servers (with above plugin, they cant trade so no need for them to be on them) - normal servers (with above plugin) - noob servers (F2P) I'd almost ask to do it the other way round too, non-F2P players kicked from the noob servers...
One of my responsibilities at work is to monitor electronic reading rooms for students. Under the rules, students are not eligible to use resources that are not educational, but we still let them visit any resource they want (except porn sites etc). It is not because we are mindless sausages, it is because it works like advertisment. People know they can use electronic reading rooms to chat with friends via facebook, play flash games etc. So, what I'm talking about, is that if we want to continue to evolve our community, we can't block Free players from our servers. Best way will be to use this plugin only on 2 or 3 of our servers.
Nobody ever said block them from all servers just make a single server we can escape to when we feel like raging.
this is the same as the MAC update... lot's of griefing for no reason. remember that we also where noobs one time. sure we payed 20€ back then but you can't say those 20€ where a total waste (well the hat we got out of it is fugly but hey) 90% of my friendslist on steam i met trough TF2 so yeah. and if valve can keep it up with the blocking of spam accounts (creating a shitload of accounts to get unbanned) and VAC beeing able to handle it. i'm 110% for the free to play stuff (and you can always help people if you want)
lol, I played Demo last night, and ended up on top, with more then double the points of anybody else on the server. I had 43 points, and the next (same team) had 18, highest on other team was 9. And I am not good at Demo. However fun that was, I didn't get any better with it. For that one needs to play vs better players. Maybe really split it up? F2P players only on F2P servers. No Premium users. Premium DLC players on premium servers, no F2P players and split realm... both types of accounts allowed.
What do you think if someone calls an admin and no admin is able to connect to the server because its an only F2P only server? Your second option is ok but your first one is not.
I just know when you start splitting a community up it will kill people off. It's f2p forever, we should just deal with it.
Got one already. Will add some other admins to my friendslist on that one later, so you guys know who it is.
+1, why should we treat f2p players different? First we had halo (& hats), now f2p, what's next? Gender + race? Or maybe social status? Lethal-Zone should remain neutral, everybody equal. That's my opinion though...
just give it a few weeks... but people not knowing JACK about the game is just plain anoying. like today we had a total noob playing spy... when i tell you he still had 0 points on the end of the map would you believe me? that's just WRONG i say we should give those people advice and/or warn/kick them because come on 30 minuits and not even 1! point? even a assist gives you a point...
Put up an advertisement that the LZ people would love to help you ingame with tips and stuff, perhaps the ingame coaching mechanism? Turns all the noobs into regular problems and keeps them playing at LZ. 2 flies with 1 smash as we dutchies say it. Also, @kippensoep, we should make a plugin that checks the amount of Facebook friends you have. Only people with at least xxx friends can join!
