So.. Saxton.. we have 2 servers.. 1 should be semi normal, the other more custom. One group likes the custom one but wants tweak. The other group doesn't like the tweaks but want it different. Both groups don't think stock saxton is good, neither does for instance Jelly (for good reasons) and he does most custom stuff. So basicly, tweak the custom saxton.. Not balanced hale too hard So put in minicrits, little bit more knockback.. No longer full crits, complaints, put back full crits Knockback too much with full crits, complaints. I am at the point that i would almost throw in the towel here since i *cannot* please everyone. The only thing i can think of is that someone who's genuinely willing to help here make a list of features (not too much details) and just have a vote about all those things with a "yes / no / nerf" and tweak it based on voting. If a vote is lost, then i don't want a discussion about it anymore. I've nurtured Saxton for a long time to the point that i believe that also new players don't find custom servers anymore which is the reason why saxton is getting less people. Skial for example might be more alive because of their way of working, but i refuse to put stupid adds on servers too. My thoughts: 1 saxton server STOCK, no modification, a goomba and thats about it. Yes including any "bad" things it might have, its just that non-regulars enjoy this type of server as seen by many other servers. Because if we cannot fill 1 server then why bother with the other one. Back in the days both servers where always full, its not like we didn't have a player base. The other server is the custom server. Jelly's modifications and tweaks based on above proposel = voting system. All is open for debate, but no nonsense and no bickering..
I like the idea of having a base vanilla server. On the plugin server we should do votes about how to balance it to keep everyone happy.
On the other hands our regulars still play on the Revive server. So I dunno. Maybe its just that TF2 is dying or something.
The title gave me an idea to check the Saxton Hell forums and servers. Most of their servers were empty and there were discussions that vsh and ff2 servers were dying. There're only about 50k people playing tf2 these days, so that's another problem.
