    The Lethal-Zone Team Fortress 2 community wars are back!

    The 2th of June, 20:00, we are starting with the first forumgather of 2010.

    Additional info and rules for 02/06/'10.
    - No war experience required!
    - A working microphone and team fortress 2 are the only requirements! ;-)
    - Server ip. (To be announced)
    - Mumble ip. (Channel will be made, you can login with your forum username and password)

    - ETF2L ruleset.
    1.1 General Points

    1.1.1 Normal Gamemode: 6on6, Medic- and Demomanlimit 1, Classlimit 2

    Normal Gamemode for 6on6 competitions is Mediclimit 1, Demoman limit 1, Classlimit 2.

    Special Gamemodes for other competitions can be found at the specific competition rule type.

    1.1.2 ETF2L Time zone = CET/CEST

    ETF2L announces all times in either Central Europe Time (CET) or Central European Summer Time (CEST). CEST in the summer, and CET in the winter. Always use the time it is in most of Europe. All matches have to be entered in CET/CEST. A clock displaying the current time can be found on our homepage. [Link]

    1.1.3 Scheduled matches have to be entered on the League Calendar

    All scheduled matches are supposed to be entered on our ETF2L Calendar. Only if a match is entered on the Calendar you have the possibility to claim a Default Win.

    1.1.4 Captures only count to decide a map winner

    Captures do not count into this league other than to decide a map winner.

    1.1.5 Use the match comments to record agreements on ringers, servers and other cases

    We encourage using the match comments to keep in touch with your opponent. Any agreement between two teams regarding the use of ringers or servers must be recorded on the relevant match page.

    1.2 Server

    1.2.1 Recommend neutral server

    Both teams can agree on a server which both maps are played on, or agree to play one map on each clans’ server. If you can’t agree to play either way then the game must be played on an ETF2L league server (please contact an admin to arrange this)

    1.2.2 Server has to be located in Europe

    All servers used for ETF2L matches must be located in Europe by default, teams especially affected by this must understand, and that this league is primarily designed for European Teams.

    1.2.3 Server needs password protection

    All servers used for ETF2L matches must be password protected.

    1.2.4 Server needs ETF2L League Config

    All servers used for ETF2L matches need to have the ETF2L League Config [Link] loaded after every map change.

    1.2.5 Server needs to provide your opponent a playable ping

    All servers used must provide your opponent with a playable ping and not disadvantage them to much with packet loss. Any team who feels a server is unplayable should bring up the issue right away. If in the event that the server is unplayable then a new server should be found or a ETF2L server could be assigned. If you do not raise an issue with a server during the match the league cannot intervene at a later date!

    1.2.6 Single ping problems needs to be proven

    A player who is having ping problems on a specific server has to prove their bad routing by a trace-route screenshot if other team asks for it.

    1.2.7 Unusual server settings may classed as cheating

    Servers with abnormal settings may be banned for matches by the league and or classed as cheating.

    1.2.8 Be sensible regarding servers

    Please try and be sensible regarding servers! We hope that Teams do not try and use bad servers purely to gain a winning advantage.

    1.3 Weapons

    1.3.1 Medic Unlocks: Übersaw + Blutsauger + Kritzkrieg allowed

    It’s allowed to use Übersaw, Blutsauger and Kritzkrieg

    1.3.2 Pyro Unlocks: Backburner + Flare gun + Axtinguisher allowed

    It’s allowed to use the Pyro Unlocks Backburner + Flare gun + Axtinguisher.

    1.3.3 Heavy Unlocks: Natasha + Sandvich + K.G.B. Allowed

    It’s allowed to use the Heavy unlocks Natasha, Sandvich and K.G.B.

    1.3.4 Scout Unlocks: Energy drink allowed. Force-a-nature and Sandman limited to 1

    It is allowed to use the Energy drink. Force-A-Nature and Sandman can only be used by 1 Scout.

    1.3.5 Sniper Unlocks:Huntsman + Razorback + Jarate allowed

    It’s allowed to use the Sniper Unlocks Huntsman + Razorback + Jarate.

    1.3.6 Spy Unlocks: Ambassador + Dead Ringer + Cloak and Dagger allowed

    It’s allowed to use the Spy Unlocks Ambassador + Dead Ringer + Cloak and Dagger.

    1.3.7 Demoman Unlocks: Scottish resistance + Charging targe + Eyelander allowed

    It’s allowed to use the Demoman Unlocks Scottish resistance + Charging targe + Eyelander.

    1.3.8 Soldier Unlocks: Equalizer allowed, Buff banner + Direct hit limited to 1, Gunboats banned

    It is allowed to use the Equalizer. The direct hit and Buff banner can only be used by 1 Soldier. The gunboats are banned until there is a way for any player to obtain them in a relatively short time as opposed to having a chance of dropping and crafting them.

    1.4 Cheats & Scripts

    1.4.1 Bug-Using is not allowed

    Any kind of “Bug-Using” is not allowed. Player using bugs will be punished.

    1.4.2 Cheats are not allowed

    Any kinds of cheats are not allowed. Player using cheats will be punished.

    1.4.3 Normal Duck Jump allowed

    Using the normal “duck jump” by a binding is allowed.

    1.4.4 Massive-Duck-Jump-Spam-Script is forbidden

    Any kind of Massive-Duck-Jump-Spam-Script is forbidden. A player using a Massive-Duck-Jump-Spam-Script in an ETF2L match will be punished.

    1.4.5 Taunt Bug is forbidden

    It’s forbidden to use a combination of Taunt and Jump or to taunt while falling from ledges.

    1.4.6 Charging targe turn scripts are forbidden

    It is not allowed to use scripts or binds that allow you to make sharp turns while charging with the targe.

    1.4.7 Addendum

    For any scripts not mentioned here, you can use as general rule of thumb: anything that allows you to do something that would be impossible without that script is forbidden.

    When in doubt, the admins decide on the legality of the script.

    1.5 Maps

    1.5.1 Timelimit 30 for all non-Stop-Watch-Maps

    Timelimit 30 has to be used for all maps which are played with StopWatch mode.

    1.5.2 Stop-Watch-Maps: cp_gravelpit, cp_gorge, cp_dustbowl, cp_steel, pl_goldrush, pl_badwater

    Stop-Watch has to be used for the following maps: cp_gravelpit, cp_gorge, cp_dustbowl, pl_goldrush, cp_steel, pl_badwater

    1.5.3 Gravelpit and Gorge = 2 Rounds using ABBA style

    cp_gravelpit and cp_gorge have to be played with 2 rounds (possible overall results: 2:0, 1:1, 0:2). After one round the teams have to be switched so each team will end up defending first. Reload the config between rounds so the teams can be switched.

    1.5.4 Possible Team Decider for Stop-Watch-Maps

    If both teams can’t agree on who is starting to attack/defend, a melee round can be played before map starts. For this meelee round, everyone needs to play Heavy with normal fists (no KGB, taunting is allowed). Please meet on a central point of the map and don’t camp or hide. Winner of melee round can decide if they want to attack or defense first.

    1.5.5 cp_freight: Door bug is forbidden

    It’s forbidden to use the door bug on cp_freight – see [external explanation].

    1.5.6 cp_gravelpit: It’s not allowed to build a teleport in your spawn area

    You aren’t allowed to build a teleporter inside your spawn.

    1.5.7 cp_gravelpit: The stickybomb bug on gravelpit is not allowed

    You aren’t allowed to use a bug where you put stickies under cp A and damage targets trough the floor.

    1.5.8 cp_well: It’s not allowed to use the red lamp to jump over as Scout

    It’s forbidden to use the lamp on right red side to jump over the train as Scout.

    1.5.9 cp_well: It’s not allowed to jump over the train until countdown reaches 5 seconds

    It’s forbidden to jump over the trains to opponents side during the “Installation Time” until Countdown reaches 5 seconds. Jumping on the trains and spamming over is allowed whole time.
    - 6 versus 6.
    - Players will be put into teams via Captains, to prevent stacking.
    - Competitive players are asked to play Off-class (ie. Not playing the same class you do in your clan/team)

    Just buy a new one, they are quite cheap nowadays.

    So, at which time will the matches be? Cause on weekdays I (and probably some others) can't stay up for too long. (Ya know, some people actually have some work to do :p )

    I spent £40 on one back in Feb 2009, that lasted 11 months, then I bought a new one at the start of jan and i picked that up and it just makes a god awful buzzing sound (like it always did but i could fix it), but i cant fix it this time :(

    I may just buy a G35 or something

    As written in the topic, the wars start at 20.00 CET. We'll play 2 maps each lasting up to 30 mins maximum.
    So you can come play with us and be gone before 21.10cet ;-)

    Not sure if I can on wednesday, will check.

    Also: not medic pick's team?
    It's a lot of fun to go with all 12 in one mumble channel, pick 2 medics and let them have a melee battle on mid. Whoever wins gets to pick a first player. When the teams are picked completely they are dragged into a mumble channel and the games can begin! :p

    Like we did last time? Could be, however we (broodje + me) thought a captain system would be handier for the first round at least. So teams can be made before the match begins, and the game can start quicker.

    Just to add, you need a working microphone. Also clicking on my nickname in the start post should instantly get you to the message screen.

    edited the main post to include a working microphone. :)

    The concept can still change over time depending on how we set-up the teams.
    With the captain system, we can assign different people each time to be a captain so everyone gets to choose there favo players once ;)


    For highlander team setup, you'll have to be patient for one more week and then you'll get some nice news from us ;)
