It reminds me of somthing I saw on TV a while ago. It said that if you put a marble on the ground in Paris , and say "This represent the Earth", and put the Moon 10 meters away, you have to put Mars in Moscow if you want to respect the scale ! ^^ It's really impressive when you realize that man never went further than the moon...
i knew it was a lot farther, circumference(not diameter, that i don't know ) of the earth is 40.000km, moon is at 300.000km or something. So it's about at least 8 times the circumference of that basketball. there is this documentary on discovery that is about our solar system. There is a big pile of comets very far beyond pluto, and i mean very far, that is thicker than the distance between pluto and the sun. I like space documentaries I wonder if that satelite that we send to that closest solarsystem will not just run into a comet at the edge of ours. Chances of getting past are slim in a straight line, as it is just flying uncontrolled
