What are your thoughts about the new items added with the ÜBER update? I only could test the following weapons for now: -The Liberty Launcher I like the weapon, although it depends on the map it is used. In close combat, the one missing rocket is a huge drawback, but in open space it does help. The sound when fired is not to my liking. -The Reserve Shooter Too situational. You've got no rockets to juggle someone? You won't get the bonus of this weapon and lack 3 crucial shots. The weaponswitch-speed bonus only gets notable when trying to finish someone who is currently not on the ground. Once again, the sound when fired doesn't fit to the rest of the weapons in my opinion. I will have to test the weapon further, but for now it feels to me too situational. The Quick-Fix Oh, how I awaited this weapon. The increased healingspeed is notable, but more notable is the lack of overhealing. That's right. You can't overheal someone with the Quick-Fix. The Übercharge of it is also oriented to fix people up real fix. You heal 300% faster and you and your patient can't be slowed. The speedbonus is almost not worthy to be noted, except you want to stick to a scout. Yet, I feel like I have wasted my one and only Kritzkrieg, as this weapon lacks of overheal and invulnerability / crit-charge is very notable to me. - As always, I'm sorry about my horrible grammar.
The overdose is the best thing since...uhm.. the kritzkrieg ? The damage decrease is not very important, and I could just run away when in danger with the awesome speed bonus.
Just tried : The Enforcer (new Spy revolver) : I like the design, but it doesn't look so nice in-game (strange shape), and the sound when shot is not perfect (I was expecting something closer to the original revolver, but it's more like l'Etranger :/ ). It's quite powerful, I dealt 70 dmg without any problem at close range, mid is around 25-30 dmg. It fires rather fast (same as the original), you can kill a scout easily with a good aim... The downside (0,5s longer cloak time) is not too much of a big deal in most of the cases (it is when escaping, obviously ^^), and of course is canceled when using the dead ringer. I think I'll use it, maybe not all the time, but it's worth trying !
Overdose: straight upgrade to the srynge-gun; as tangency said, the lower damage doesnt really matter, but the speed-increase is awsome. definitly in the basic loadout. Solemn Vow: upgrade to the bonesaw; seeing enemy-health isnt really worth it in pubs, cause it's hard to pick a certain enemy; might be useful in comps due to higher precision of the players, but honestly, i dont believe it's going to be used. For pubs, i'd stay with the vita-saw; it's definitly overpowered due to the !passiv! uber-safe, which basiclly means 20% faster charge-rate after the first death. (overpowered in pubs cause medics die often; underpowered in bad comps cause medics hardly get killed; overpowered in highlvl comps, cause it reduces the effectiveness of medic-picks) Quickfix: highly situational; if there's an other medic on the team with normal uber / kritz for pushes, then it's a viable choice cause it's really good for team-heal; but only one medic with quickfix in the team wont work most of the time. The overheal-ability of the "old" ones is too important, since a good medic can easily keep 4-5 at max health; the higher healing-rate cant match that. Higher speed when locked on a scout doesnt matter. Also, when ubered the medic and his patient take no damage, when kritzed the enemies run from us; non of that applies to the quickfix. Now, if valve would have kept the weapon how it was in the beta aka. with +50% charge-rate instead of the now +25% charge-rate, it would be a good alternative due to the higher ubercharge-numbers, but in the current state it's definitly inferior to the medigun / kritz; tl/dr: Stick to the medigun / kritzkrieg; quickfix isnt worth it in the current state.
I freakin love the The Enforcer, havent tried thr big earner yet but judging by its stats its going to suck, giving the spy a weapon that give him less health will always suck similar to scout.
tbh, in a more competitive view of things, this new medic syringe gun isn't all that good. Since you're playing against classes that will still be faster (running scouts or jumping/shooting sollies/demo). The little speed bonus doesn't affect you that much. However in those situations that you actually need that gun to shoot. Because you're facing enemies alone because your team-mates died, every single damaging hp count. Because it can be over in a second. So, it really depends on the situation whether that gun is a "straight upgrade" or not. Making it a situational weapon, making it balanced.
If you are so desperate about that 1 damage you're doing it wrong and so is your team. The faster movement could really help you dodge or get to cover faster.
yeah i think it's better to be safe than sorry. when most of your team is dead, you prolly still have some uber left. This could help you to get away faster (you don't stand around and fight, but you run and shoot) and stuff
I would LOVE to have those new weapons, but somehow, last time i got a drop was MONDAY now is sunday! whats wrong with me? Every1 else is getting drops. Enyway, If you somehow want to test those weapons, i recommend Randomizer servers. You just need to get lucky. I tested reserve shooter and liberty launcer, and i liked them. Meet the medic is incredible, it brings you the feeling of victory! Only bad thing now is that TF2 is Free to play... Sum of TF2 players douples causing lag and ping increasing. There will be more hackers. I love and hate ùber update. :?
It happened to me often enough that an enemy got away with less than 16 hp if I had to go battle medic. And since I actually only play medic in mixes, without actual team work, yeah... the team is prolly doing it wrong mister pro...
pff don't mind the weapons (ok demoknights are of my to heal list that's final) but still i'm going to collect them (oh using the spygun wich kinda rocks with deadringer haha) yeah the FTP is kinda made a "i get banned... oh well i use any of my other 27 accounts" now i realy see the item market crashing like hell (idling with free account trade to good account)
I really like the liberty launcher for some reason, but I think one less rocket is a pretty huge drawback and makes the vanilla launcher still a bit better. Haven't tried the other soldier weapons yet. Oh, and Tomislav is hilariously overpowered. Having a good time with that gun.
Tomislav Roflstompingly overpowered. With the non-existent windup-time you can kill everything. Easily killed other Sasha-Heavies simply because I was way quicker on the draw than them. Together with the GRU you can even chase down enemies. Could be also great in combination with the KGB. KGB kill -> Tomislav -> CRY SOME MOAR Detonator IIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH... Fucking hell that weapon has the most awful firing sound I've heard in a while. Sadly, it's also more useless than I thought. You barely get anywhere with the Flarejump (unless there' some special technique I'm missing) and the midair detonation is almost impossible to time properly. You better off just shooting it normally - so you might as well take the regular Flare Gun. New (?) Chargin Targe Has anybody else noticed that the targe starts recharging from the point you cancel the charge and not from 0 anymore? This is actually pretty fun for annoying the server with a permantly screaming Demo.
Only thing ive used is the detonator... Annoying sound, pointless for jumping (if you call the little boost you have a jump) and just another thing to worry about. Sticking to the flare.
The Soda Popper Awesome weapon imo. The minicrits are NOT random as many people think. Just let the Hypermeter fill to about 95% and switch to another weapon for the time being without combat. The meter won't go up until you switch back to the Soda Popper (maybe not intended?). See an opponent in range? Switch back to the Soda Popper and enjoy your minicrits (which are applied to other weapons too!).
The detonator what have they done to you? it's either broken of they intentionally left the infamous flarejump out. just look at this vid (second part is from tf2 beta):
Do you have any idea how horribly overpowered that would be on Gpit? Can't mid-air a jumping pyro and he can clear the entire point for 25 ammo?
The last part of that pyro video is pointless as its just giving the solly (or any other class) more time to kill you. and this.
I've seen people not noticing the quick-fix uber... Whether this has to do with the F2B noobness or the effect not being very noticable I don't know, I haven't been ubered by it yet. Though I still very much prefer the medigun or kritz, having no overheal is a serious drawback imo. I thought the solemn vow would be awesome at first because I like to see the enemy's hp as a Spy, but it just isn't as useful as a medic and quite confusing too if you're not paying attention to team colors (or when the damn hud fucks up...) So the Overdose is the only really useful weapon for me, though it did take me while to find out that you only get a speed bonus with the weapon drawn
