Hi ! I wanted to introduce to you that newwatch made by some guy I met on a forum, because I find it so awesome, and I like the concept. Also, it may seem a little overpowered but the counterparts are interesting. It's called "The pocket watch filled with blood", in reference to "The Maid and The Pocket Watch of Blood" (don't know where that's from). <a class="postlink" href="http://dttcorp.fr/watchtf/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://dttcorp.fr/watchtf/</a> Cloak type : feign death, unlimited cloak. Silent uncloak. While disguised, the spy is immune to fire. You lose 5hp/second when the watch is active (except for the first 6 seconds when under effect of damage reduction) The watch auto-activates : if you make it active for at least one second, it starts draining your health points. The watch regenerates the cloaking very slowly : it takes 120 seconds to get it back full (with the dead ringer it only takes 16s, without additional metal). I think it totally changes the way you can play the spy : you both have to be a ninja (because losing hp is really something to avoid), and to me among your opponents to benefit of its advantages (like being immune to fire).
I dont see how this is "totally changes the way you can play the spy", It's a mix between DR and playing spy pre December 10, 2008 update. For it to be concidered a sidegrade it needs more of a downside.
Actually I started playing TF2 in 2009 so I didn't know how it was before the update. But it's not absolutely like playing with the DR imo ! You have to be even more careful with your health, and you can't infiltrate enemy lines without being busted by a pyro. I think you can build your actions in longer time that way (like following the medic without being suspected, and wait for the right time to kill him). Yes Pablosky you're right .
on paper it sounds a bit...ehm overpowered XD I wonder how it's in game though, since it does sound pretty cool. except the name. it's so long EDIT: after some "long"Like one minute... rethinking, it's probably quite useable in real combat situation (aka playing the game) for only like one time, due it's long charge up time.
It depends on whether the cloak becomes full if you hit a resup cabinet. Else you'll just walk to there within 30 secs and refresh it. Or die and get it in anything between a few secs to 20 secs.
Recharge takes way too long for it to be even considered. Make it like 30 sec, or double the normal time. That's more then enough. Too easy to grief with, -6 hp per sec whilst cloacked on a healthpack that respawns every 10 sec = spy won't die, unlimited cloack, one less player. Just like those shitty C&D spy's back in the day, that would do nothing but sit and wait for the "perfect" moment.
Well I have no idea, as it's just a fan-made contribution. However I think you can create a server with it installed (it comes as a replacement of the Gibus). Also, you can be cloaked for 25 secs if your health is full (and without getting health packs), so this means you will never get 25 seconds just because you need to be hit to cloak. If this works just like the DR, you also loose health/time if you're hit while cloaked. Last, you uncloak with a few hp and with no possibility to cloak again (unlike the DR). That's why I don't think it really is overpowered... it's just different !
Hello, I've helped Cbast (the modeler) on this project (scripts and a little crap thing with the DR). I'm sorry for the "Consommation", and if there is anything that could be corrected, I'll be pleased to improve the description or scripts. Yeap, the name is long, but "The Maid and the Pocket Watch filled with Blood" is so awesome The recharge time was on 0 (like the consumption), but we think to a little recharge that don't really is useful but exist... The only way to use the cloak meter is to decloak before the 6 protection's second. So if you stay 7 seconds cloaked you lose 6+5 HP but you can recloak directly, but if you decloak before you lose ~65% of the cloak meter. I don't have timed it but, if all the cloak meter (it's impossible) is 120 seconds, it must be like ~78 sec. But you can refill it with metal. An other thing, (and the biggest drawback of this cloak system) is the fact that the damage on yourself spawn little icons, and they appeared to everyone. So it's really not like the C&D. I really think this Pocket Watch is UP because of that, but I don't know how to avoid this... Thanks to talk about this item. (I hope I didn't make horrible English mistakes D
