Hhuhu, so let me now what was your max. FPS in a game and in what:...? So mine was 4000-6000 FPS in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 ; Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT / 215MB ;D
you did a typo there! i'm almost sure you can't even make 1/10 out of that fps! Or your fps checker is bugged. everybody above 60/70 FPS isnt "really" needed. 24 fps is low, but it is playble... feels a bit laggy, but if you fine with it you dont need a new videocard. If you avarage FPS is around 300.. set you graphics higher
already have got a new graphics card. (since a month or something) 24 is my max. but most of the time it keeps hanging around the 9-15 it's weird. because when I just bought my new GC and extra ram memory. the lag was pretty much gone. but now it's back again :S
My settings are so high, more i can't --> and 4000-6000 was during the Loading Time xD ^^ Xfire showed me the fps.
In CounterStrike: Source I had a maximum of 200 fps (Core 2 Duo with gtx260, 2 Gig ram) TeamFortress2: as anyone 50-60 fps. FarCry2: Full detail, everything on high or maximum; no lag whatsoever, it was very playable. Cant tell the frames I had (maybe 100 fps I think) And Quake3 with the same machine I think it was around 600 fps if I remember correctly (the demo included is what I used for this). Everything highest, highest resolution my tv could handle (720p = 1360x786), trilinear filtering and more of that fun stuff...
FPS is always funny since the eye can't see more then 30 fps. Most screens have a refresh rate of 60 hz ( 60 fps) . Of course, fps is always an indication of how well the gfx handles the video in the game.
