Now, you probably get this a lot, but this is not me asking you (awesome) admins on LZ to make me into an admin I were looking though the admin application and it said my steam profile had to be "good in standing" or somthing along those lines. about now you have probably already jumped to the conclution that "NO YOU MAY NOT" since i'm even just bringing this up, but please hear all i have to say. a few years back (2-3 years) when i had a really really horrible computer i were just playing CoD:MW2, i were playing with about 5 fps and i decided to compensate for it, so i found an aimbot that would make me hit about 50% of my shots as i did when i were playing at my friends place, then i stopped playing for a while (roughly 2 months) and when i got back to it i were banned. now i think cheating is bad and horrible and all that stuff and i'm all for fair play when it comes to games. i look back at it and i can't really say i regret it at all since i did not do it to improve my personal skill without having the skill, i did it to have about the same amount of skill i had otherwise. then we come to my 1 week ban from the LZ servers wich i got from trying to do good, though when i think back on it it only brought more caos. let's not get too much into that, i were quick onto the forums and made a unban appeal. now i know i don't have enough forum posts to make an admin yet but that will change over the next few months i hope! if you actually read through all that stuff, thanks for hanging in there and i'd like to hear your opinion!
I'll handle it. This means that there is no need for anybody but Staff/TC or Backo himself to reply here atm. Thanks. Before I make any kind of a judgement, I'd like to have a few extra points of information. If I go to your steam profile you use on the forum, VAC says you have "bans on record". Does this mean you are VAC banned with that account, or can you play even though they have things on you from the past? Can you explain that further please. Secondly, you say that you do not regret using the aimbot, because you'd have roughly the same skill on a good computer. Does this mean you find hacking justifiable in some cases? Explain this. Where do you want to be an admin in the first place? Rocket Jump Servers? And lastly, could you make any argument why you would be a help to community if we make you admin? Cheers.
VAC bans work engine wide. If you are caught hacking in DoD:S you will be banned in all source engine games. This ban only applies to Cod:MW2 (and probably other cod games, not sure about that)
VAC bans for Valve Games are since Portal 2 per game (otherwise TF2 VAC'd would be VAC'd on P2 etc). Before that, it was per engine. VAC bans for other games are per game. You cannot see what games/engines are VAC'd on a profile.
Hope this helps. He has been banned from MW2, but he can still play all other steam games, just as Pan said. Spoiler source: http://www.vacbanned.com/static/informations Edit: You can also check the date when he got banned on that site if you feel like it.
as i said in my first post i explained that i had 5 fps and noone could see that i was hacking because i used it to hit about 50% of the shots. i didn't improve my skill unrightfully i compensated for my lag issues. note: i would never ever use any sort of cheat again in a game i like playing, the ban is old and i haven't touched cheats since. and where i want to be admin, jump servers yes, that's where i spend most my time on tf2.
I'm afraid that right now we do not think it would be wise if you'd be representing the community as an admin. I'm sorry, have fun on the servers.
