I read all of your post (some where way too long: S!dewinder ), but I don't think it is true to say that Valve and TF2 is shit and blablabla, I agree that they can make the achievements and gameplay more funnier by add achievements, but do it all in once, than the gameplay don't change and it's still fun
You are right Melvin, and Sidewinder to. I to use to play medic and pyro, before the achievements. Now Pyro is less fun to play. Even medics are hard to come by on a server. Yesterday I was the only medic, on the defending team.... Offcourse we lost, almost all the others where pyro's and couldn't care shit about the map objectives, only their own. But Farming for the achievements is a bit to far. I once visited a farming server with another player cause he asked me to follow him. But didn't stay to long, It isn't fun to get the achievements that way. Just play and try to get them. Indeed medic achievement with healing was easy, and it is a shame that you need to start from scratch with the points for pyro..
imo the achievements made the whole game stupid in the beginning people were laughed at because there were for example 3 engis in the attacking team... since the achievements the whole concept of players choosing different classes to complement one another (so they add up to a functioning team  ) is totally gone. it's no fun playing a so called team game where there is no team play...
I contacted steam support about the achievements, the damage, kill 500, kill 1000, destroy 50 buildings. Because in all fairness they should have been carried over. For the 1 mill damage anybody with over 1 mill damage already had put a worthwhile time into pyro, sure it may not all be fire damage but for anybody over 1 mill damage they should have got the achievement with anybody else starting from scratch. I really don't see how kill 500, kill 1000 and destroy 50 buildings cant be retroactive, those things were already stored in the stats. "Thank you for contacting Steam Support. You will need to earn the achievements with the statistics you gain while playing after the release yesterday. Any kills or destructions from previous rounds will not be counted. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns."
on the valve mailing list there is also a big discussion about this. The idea behind this update was to bring less populair characters more into the spotlight. Before the medic update there where nearly enough medics to heal.. And to be honnest, i think the introduction of the new weapons will result in a beter medic balance. Now the pyro is ready for a update.. i think the next update will be the spy or sniper if valve is changing something about the archievements i dont know. But i know there is enough feedback to valve to change something about it.
