think ziano has tought all these limits and restritcions trough so the server could be as balanced as i can ever be if it was a KOTH server it wouldnt be a problem to have engineers running around and stuff :lol:
join the 2fort server instead, i've got that running with no modifications at all, totally vanilla no sourcemod, no metamod. If that server is running fine for say 2days without crashes, then its a sourcemod issue. I want to be sure about this... doing my best to find the issues..
Hmm. IMO sandvich is especially op when there is no medic. It gives the heavy a huge advantage when there are few ppl on the server since the heavy has already a good dmg output and AWESOME hp. So there are basically 2 ways to defeat a heavy: surprise or being able to constantly put low dmg on the heavy while getting no dmg yourself (minigun spintime). The last option disappears with the allowance of the sandvich. Mad Milk: Scout loses pistol which is an unbelievable strong weapon on arena so its actually a disadvantage IMO. The last updates show that Valve is making up stuff with just payload and barely CP in mind, let alone Arena. The Medic used to be the holy grail in Arena, to be protected at all costs. Now Scouts and Heavies, the Medic's best patients, can heal on their own, it's just ridiculous... :|
Sandvich is delicious, but makes the game very unbalanced expecially when heavy is alone fighting class that can do just little-medium damage in a short time. So, I'm against the Sandvich in arena.
most of the time it's all scout anyway :lol: I don't blame them. Scout is the best class for Arena. Even against a heavy.
Ziano, in light of valve fuckups, i want to turn off sourcemod and metamod completely. This will allow everything ingame again, but just as a test to see if it makes any difference. If it does then we have to zift through the plugins and see which one is causing it.
ok, as always thanks for your work ^___^ edit- when all will be ready announce it, so we can try the server,some minutes ago i joined it and it was the same situation as these days.
for now snelvuur has disabled ALL plugins (starting with the engine it runs on fyi sourcemod) so the next few days we need to test the arena server for lag/lagspikes and crashes (and other weird stuff) if the problems are gone snelvuur and we can start looking deeper to find what is causing this lag.
just for the sake of "testing" i want to keep it like this for 2 days.. if then lag appears, then its more likely a isp issue thing (or server isp) If we go back, i want to ga to a new stable release of sourcemod and see how that goes. For all i know these lag spikes could be cause by just 1 plugin, or by steam playing tricks on the server.
And yes, since its our first arena server we have to "iron" these things out. I thought it would just be a matter of "ooo, i'll whip this puppy up and be done with it" i ques not
Server is running very well, althought there are a lot of people playing 6 scout in 6v6 lol. no lag at all. Also engies.
