Student College for 1.5 years now 1.5 years to go Then 1 year of being lazy and going to army After that to the university of Turku to study English and history (if I qualify) Though I'm also somewhat interested in journalism (writing) so that would also be a possibility if the school wasn't in Tampere...got no interest in moving there. Also there's a third option for me: geography. My sister (who teaches me geography at our school ^^) told me that there's a big need for ppl who know how to design/blast mines (mines as not the explosives...) and that sounds pretty interesting too. Of course nothing is carved to stone and there might come up something that puts all these aside but it's good have at least somekind of idea of the possible future.
I quote for that. And I also wanted to go to the army ... my grandfather was a colonel and fought for the independence of Congo. He inspired me, but due to bad knees you probably won't see me joining the army. ^^
wood, what to say more? greek, just a battle bewtween LWI and GL Humane, because it's freaking humane, have you ever seen such a class? If a teacher says a word that look like "gay, oral" or anything like that they laugh for a week. If you ask them something you can expect an answer as : "Fuck off, your grandma is a nigger!" jeez really...
I could build it myself, it wouldn't look that great but it will do Ok so these people would be put to good use any use for people who studied humane?
I don't think anything. I feel that we need a huge variety of people. If everyone were the same the world would be boring + not all jobs could be done. I also believe that probably a lot of people do not grow to their full potential. But that is another topic/debate.
i'm guessing what he means is that studying latin won't help to make cars go faster or sth it's just the practical way of thinking, no?
Most people who studied latin go to dollege and study engeneering these get a job at a car factory and start to think of new ways to build better and faster cars ^^ then the people from Mechanics etc build these cars... So we kinda need everybody right?
yeah but still the latin has no use when you start thinking of new ways to build better cars and people who studied mechanics know a lot more of engineering then people who studied latin
Hardly anybody who studied Latin goes on to study engineering. Latin however is insanely important in understanding languages.
but then latin is used in a good way to knwo our history and analyse our language+ to get the hang of these old writers who had a lot of wisdom
OK I am not sure I am going to formulate this one properly (I am an uneducated dumbo, remember? ;-) ) but people who study Latin are recognised as students who know HOW to study and have a certain structure in their way of thinking. This means that they can easily get into good university courses. You will probably ind that people who study Latin earn more than average (I am just guessing so please do check this one! ). What you need to realise is the following: if there is a course there, there is a reason. It means that something positive can be learned and people can be educated/improved by it. (I will leave out the kind of studies that one can follow in Asia as it will become too difficult in our arguments. ;-) )
god I don't come to the forums for 1 afternoon and you guys wrote all this and then calling me a spammer  Well about me: I'min the 3th grade of "het VWO" (preparing sience education)(free translated) it just means they expect you to go to college when I finished my 6 year during highschool time I want to study history and then return to my highschool to teach those kidz how to make fun during the lessons (and of course some history  ) I want to go for "Master" so I can teach the examen classes
Idd, he is right: more variety offers more possibilities. You will notice that when you take a look at the number of studies you are able to begin at college. They all differ from each other, but every study puts its own accent on an aspect. For example engineer, you have a few accents within it: biological engineer, chemical engineer, industrial engineer, medical engineer, etc. Everybody feels himself/herself more comfortable within another aspect than everyone else. In this case Humane likes it more psychological than working with numbers, languages or translating.
