i signed in as demo / med although im a better medic so its my first choice. also im available pretty often, when u see me online in steam just call me when something is going on (marked sunday, monday, thursday and friday). When we r going to train and when the first maches will start? i found my way back into css-scene and pwning not bad there, so my tf2 skills went a bit rusty last weeks. but ill take the challange and enjoy competitive tf2 gaming with ya good fellaz PS. I talked to madame la flour, coz imo hes one of the best regs we have in LZ and persuaded him to join our team 8)
OK we have a game with a div 5/6 team tomorrow (Monday 12th) at 20:00 CET, their server. Get your asses in mumble or at least on steam for that time and we will see who will play.
Well, so far nothing is definitive. We have more people that we need, but backups are welcome too . Good Job Soul ! @ Kittens, is CET your English time ?
So I $ouljah* persuaded me to join your team. I have never been part of any comp team (actually I have never ever been in any team cause I am quite forever alone type of player) but I guess I could at least try it. If you let me ofc Unfortunately I can´t confirm my availability for tomorrow since I am not going to play with my current headset (it cost me 3$, my mic is attached to headphones with ducktape - my DYI repair , so sometomes my mic produces quite horrible noises. I can´t risk your ears will start bleed just because of my headset) However I am going to buy a new one today so I should be able to play with you on Tuesday.
Good luck tomorrow! Remember to get plenty of practice in on pl_badwater! (if there's interest I'll share the strategy notes I know of)
i'd like to "sign up" as well i heard you need a backup demo (you have asbak to blame for that  ), but I'm also available as a heavy if you need me i do need to know it in advance though, as my schedule can be quite irregular
Cool, more people ! I also just added a bunch of you in the team roster. At this rate it's gonna become a LZ mix ^^ . Welcome Madame la Floure, I guess ^^ please fill this table too with your availabilities : <a class="postlink" href="http://www.doodle.com/d3r94y8694yr5a85#table" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.doodle.com/d3r94y8694yr5a85#table</a> . boogie, I think you can enter your details in the polls (see first post for the links). I'll try to clear things up later today, I think it's about time to stop adding new people, as we already have 13 over-motivated players ;D . I'll also contact everyone that's free tonight to determine who will play. Until tonight, have a good afternoon !
Negative, CET is central European time, 1 hour ahead of me. I'm on GMT (Greenwich Mean time) also known as UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) Ye UTC is a fucked up acronym Also nice going Antou and welcome to the new players, seen Madame around on the servers - beastly pyro
UTC is not a synonym of GMT. UTC is the time standard used in electronic systems to keep track of time on the subsecond level. There is essentially less than a second difference between the two, but GMT should generally be viewed as the time zone, whereas UTC is the standard to keep track of time in electronic systems .
Might be a bit late, signups close today. I also think it's better to have some people warming the subs bench each week than to have trouble filling fixtures. Better than that would be to have a squad rotation policy.
Squad rotation works fine with a few people; but having this many potential players has, in my experience, a big impact on the teamplay. As an example: let's say, you change 3-4 people every match, then everyone else of that team has to "learn" the new ones, e.g. how they behave in certain situations / under pressure, how good they make calls, skill-level, etc. Such a team will -never- be as good as a team, which players have played nearly all matches together. On the other hand, if you change a whole squad for each match, aka. this match these 9 guys play, next match the other ones: I can allmost guarantee, that this will sooner or later lead to frustration / anger, when things start to go downhill (e.g. loosing a few matches), because there -will- be blame on the worse team for crippling the chances of the better one. Now the latter is the worst case, but sadly holds true most of the time
You are correct, there is a practice. For this season at least we will have to stick to one team, as signups are now closed.
